District 1-F Convention Details
The 2020 District 1-F Convention Committee has been hard at work planning our District 1-F Convention to be held March 13-15. It will be held at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore in Northbrook , IL. We would like to ask for your help to get the word out to your Club members. Included in this newsletter are links to documents and registration forms needed for clubs and Lions members to register, sign-up, support and attend our District Convention.

Convention Registration
Registration can be mailed with payment by downloading and completing this form , or it can be completed and paid online by visiting this link . Purchase the package and receive a $6 discount if purchased individually. Registration and payment must be received by March 3 . If preferred, registration and meals can be purchased separately.

Hotel Information
Hotel reservations at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore should be made in advance via phone by calling (800) 468-3571 or online by visiting this link . Be sure to tell them you are with the Lions District 1-F 2020 Convention. The Convention rate is $99 per night plus tax. Reservations must be made by Feb. 20 to receive this special room rate.

Proceedings Booklet
The Proceedings Booklet will be a 5½” x 8½” publication, thus making it easier to carry with you throughout the Convention. As in previous years, it will contain club president letters , as well as district committee letters. In addition, your club can show its Lions pride by purchasing a Patron ad .
Parade of Banners
Keeping with tradition, Convention will begin with the club parade of banners at the opening plenary session on Friday night. Complete this form so your club is represented .

Silent Auction
The District Silent Auction will be Friday night of Convention. Club and individual auction items are needed. Click here for auction donation ideas .

Hospitality Room Tables
Hospitality room tables are available on a “first come, first served” basis. If your club would like to get in on the fun and host a table or two for Friday and Saturday night, please have your chairperson complete this form and return. There is no charge for one table. There is a $50 for each additional table needed. This year the International Lions Convention will be held in Singapore, so the theme for our Hospitality room is “Street Foods.” Individual Lions and clubs also have the opportunity to show their Lions spirit by “donating” a sitting or bistro table in or outside the hospitality room. Recognition will be placed on each table donated.

Club Brag Boards
Throughout the weekend convention, the club brag boards will be displayed and judged. Who will bring home the trophy this year? In addition, there will exhibitors of interest to all. Please refer to this letter from ZCs Ron Niemaszyk and Mia Kaim and RSVP as requested .

Vendor Show
As in past years, there will be a vendor show on Saturday, March 14. Applications are being accepted for show participants.

Service Excellence Awards
Service Excellence awards will be presented at the banquet on Saturday night. The application to nominate someone for one of these awards can be found here .
