The Beacon Hill Friday Rundown
Everything that’s been happening on campus related to
the Coronavirus prevention efforts

This week brought a welcome change of sunshine and warmth. We saw many residents outdoors enjoying their patios for the first time this season. We are grateful that our residents are healthy, with no symptoms campus-wide. Our families and staff have been extremely supportive, and wonderful. We appreciate all that you do to make Beacon Hill a wonderful place to live and work.

OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE
Continued Safety Precautions

We have been consistently monitoring the health of our residents. Each group of residents goes through screenings at various intervals depending on their current living arrangements:

  • Online screening for staff implemented, thermometers and sanitizer at each location.

  • Emergency team is monitoring daily updates and acting on new information.

  • Managing PPE community wide, working local community for access to as much as possible, in need of hand made gowns as PPE is at a premium, the organization has a policy on when it will be used for residents and our staff campus wide.

  • Screening Residents/Staff/Visitor (Skilled Nursing residents are screened 2x a day, Memory Support 1x day, Assisted Living 1x day, Independent Living weekly, staff every shift).

Added Safety Precautions

  • We’re working with all of our residents to ensure that their health care decisions and advanced care planning is up-to-date across campus.

  • We will be introducing enhanced screening for care givers/personal assistants/private duty at our 1919 location for Independent Living.

  • We are respectfully requesting no visitors, and that families coming on the grounds to limit their numbers to 2 at a time, and observe social distancing standards. Personal visitation restrictions being considered (might restrict visitors to those who are only medically necessary).

  • Preparing in advance with physician groups at Mercy and Spectrum Health, as well as outside emergency medical personal to enact protocols for safety of our staff and residents in the event that we will need to care for an influx of COVID cases.

Resources for everyone

Our medical insurance provider, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), has an Emotional Support Line available for anyone to call and they do not have to be a UHC member. Best of all, it’s free!
