This Sunday, May 31st, we welcome the Rev. Dr. William Evertsberg to the pulpit. Rev. Dr. Evertsberg and his wife Kathy have been worshiping with us since thier recent move from Illinois. They both joined the Church of the Pilgrimage just last week!.

HEIFER 2026 Update!

We did it! Once again, with all your help our congregation has raised enough money to fund the ARK for 2026!!

We currently have raised $5800.

We also had a RECORD number of donors, which was a goal for this year.

I am truly SO IMPRESSED with the loving, giving spirit of our church, and their willingness to help others, ALWAYS!

We are truly blessed to be in such a supportive community.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

Monday Meals

Another successful Monday Meals season has come to a close, resuming again after Labor Day. Thanks to everyone who took part!

This includes the teams and their leaders who cooked and served a hot lunch, those who provided sandwiches and cookies for the take away bags, those who provided coffee cakes, muffins and juices for our continental breakfast table.

And thanks to those who came to socialize with our guests, offering hospitality and kindness. And not to be forgotten, everyone who faithfully helped with set up, clean up and anything else needed!

Monday Meals is an important mission of the Church of the Pilgrimage. If you would like to know more, think you might help in some way, speak with Karla Wood or Kathy Marks.

Music Notes

Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) was a popular composer in his own time. He was lauded in his native France and celebrated with a national musical tribute in 1922 led by then President Millerand. His music is often seen as a link between the romanticism of the nineteenth century and the modernism of the twentieth century. Most well known for his Requiem, Fauré created a large output of music, much of it for voice or piano. His Cantilene is a good example of Fauré’s beautiful and accessible melodic style.

The postlude is a new take on the familiar hymn Amazing Grace. In this treatment, the tune is used as the foundation for a glittering Toccata. For six years, J. Christopher Pardini (b. 1973) was senior organist at the Crystal Cathedral in California. He is now Director of Music at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral on Greensburg, PA and serves as a lecturer at St. Vincent College in Pennsylvania.

Important Announcement

School Street Parking and School Street building access

Beginning in early May 2026 and continuing for ten months or so, the first two metered parking spaces on School Street will have a large construction dumpster placed there. This dumpster will be used by the construction crew working on the renovation of the Mayflower Meeting House.

The location of this dumpster will impact handicap parking on School Street. Therefore, persons in our congregation who have mobility issues should plan to drop-off in front of the church to use the oceanside door with ramp.

We will keep you updated on the timeline of how long the dumpster will be located in these parking spaces on School Street.

Portrait

Generous contributions from congregation members have brought us most of the way toward our goal of $1950 for the professional portrait of Rev. Tim. If you would like to assist in this project, please write “Pastor Portrait” in the memo line of your check, and send it to the Office at 8 Town Square or put It in the Sunday offering plate.

Rev. Tim has brought renewed vitality to our church. We want to show his engaging countenance to friends and visitors.

Parking for Newcomers

Reminder that paid parking recommences on April 1

A reminder that on Sundays most of us park on School St., Main St. Extension (3 handicap), Summer St. (4 hours), and in the Market St. and Middle St. lots. Park Plymouth has informally agreed to not start ticketing vehicles near the church until noon on Sundays. One can get parking permits from Park Plymouth at 4 North Street; ph.508.747.5929;
