Lakeview Primary & Baldwin High School Named Reward Schools by
Georgia Department of Education
Lakeview Primary and Baldwin High School have been named Reward Schools by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). A Reward School is among the top five percent of Title I schools in the state that is making the most progress in improving the performance of all students over the most recent two years on the statewide assessments. According to the GaDOE, 157 schools in 77 school districts were identified as Reward Schools this year.
“I am very proud of our faculty, staff, students, and parents from both schools. This is a testament to the overall hard work that is happening in our classrooms, and I am confident we will continue to see an upward trajectory in overall student learning and achievement,” said Dr. Noris Price, Superintendent.
“While we are focused on ensuring all schools have the support and resources they need to continuously improve, it is incredibly important that we also recognize and celebrate when schools are doing well,” State School Superintendent Richard Woods said via news release. “I wish to congratulate the staff and students of this year’s Reward Schools – during a time of challenges, they have worked hard, and they have succeeded.”

Dr. Noris Price Receives the 2021 Deana Burgess Award from Georgia College
Congratulations to Superintendent Dr. Noris Price for receiving the 2021 Deana Burgess Award: Outstanding Partner in Teacher Preparation from Georgia College. This award is given to persons who have worked with the John H. Lounsbury College of Education as partners in the professional preparation programs. The winners are nominated by the mentor leaders and recommended to the dean and the chair of the Awards Committee. On behalf of Georgia College, these words were shared about Dr. Price:
"In 2014, Dr. Noris Price was hired as Superintendent of Baldwin County Schools. From the beginning of her tenure, she has been a supporter of and an advocate for the partnership between the school district and the College of Education at Georgia College. This year the partnership was further strengthened by her willingness to work with College of Education personnel to collaboratively establish protocols and procedures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Within this effort, Dr. Price held steadfast to her belief in the value of field experiences for both teacher candidates and P-12 students. Even in the midst of a pandemic, her support did not waiver. She is the deserving recipient of the 2021 Deana Burgess Award for Outstanding Partner in Teacher Preparation."
Representatives from the John H. Lounsbury College of Education at Georgia College presented Dr. Price with the award along with a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation and gratitude for the work she has done throughout her years as superintendent in garnishing a strong partnership between the College of Education and the Baldwin County School District.
