The Baldwin County School District recognized our retired educators for their many years of dedication to our students in May during the end-of-year celebration. They were honored with tokens of gratitude and appreciation for their service.
We would like to thank our BCSD retirees for the multitude of years they have dedicated their lives to the betterment of our students and school district. They have worked non-stop to make sure our students receive everything they need to be successful in life. Their hard work has been an inspiration to us all. Thank you retirees for giving this school district, students, co-workers, parents, and this community your very best each and every day. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you nothing but the best as you enter into the next chapter of your lives. You have worked your entire life for this day, and it is finally here. With the 2020-2021 school year behind us, we want to personally thank all our parents and guardians for your ongoing support and cooperation during one of the most challenging years we have ever known. This year provided us challenges in every shape and size, but despite those difficulties, our school community made it through..…together!
We are all very proud of our students and would like to congratulate them on completing another successful school year; they excelled in academics, athletics, and the arts in the midst of a global pandemic. And congratulations to our graduates. Our high school seniors have received a multitude of college acceptance letters and are on their way to the next phase of their educational journey. We all felt the impact COVID-19 placed on our personal and professional lives, yet our students remained steadfast and resilient during it all.
We are also very proud of 0ur educators who worked tirelessly to provide in-person and remote learning instruction to our students. None of the successes we experienced this school year could have been possible without the dedication of our employees. We applaud each of them for their exceptional efforts during these unprecedented times.
It is important for you, as parents and guardians, to understand the essential role you’ve played in successfully bringing this school year to a close. We know that it has been a taxing school year. Whether your child attended classes in-person or remotely, you all have had to juggle work, home life, worries of a pandemic, and economic concerns, all the while supporting your children’s education. But you managed to not only pull it off but to succeed. What you have done for your child is truly remarkable, and we applaud you!
Over the summer, we will continue to share information with you about the upcoming school year through our website and social media. Please continue to follow CDC safety guidelines and stay safe. We look forward to seeing everyone back for another great school year on August 4th.

The 2020-2021 School Year was one school year that was a memorable one. Still, together the administrators, students, and staff of the Baldwin County School District managed to successfully complete an entire school year in the middle of a global pandemic. In an effort to celebrate the end of a successful school year, the entire BCSD family came together for the End-of-Year Celebration. This was the first time employees were able to come together for an in-person event since 2019.
We commend all of our employees for their swift transition to a new way of working and the unwavering dedication and support they provided for our students during a global pandemic. As we reflect on our 2020-2021 school year, we are reminded of the extraordinary group of employees who make this school district truly remarkable. The effects of the COVID-19 crisis have forced us to look carefully at our priorities and make necessary changes. Yes, we have had to face many challenges along the way, but together we turned this unprecedented school year into a successful one. The BCSD employees performed brilliantly under these extraordinary circumstances.
Congratulations to everyone for another successful school year here at the Baldwin County School District! Check out more photos from our End-of-Year Celebration by clicking the button below.

BCSD Celebrates National School Communicators Day
|
|
At the June 8th school board meeting, Felicia Cummings, BCSD School & Community Relations Coordinator, was recognized in honor of National School Communicators Day, which was observed on May 14th. In May of 2019, it was declared that on the second Friday of May, School Communicators would be honored for the essential role they play in helping schools and the communities they serve to come together through effective and positive communication.
In the past two years, and now more so in this past year, school communicators along with educators have been seen in a different light due to the COVID-19 pandemic. School communicators have been working alongside superintendents and school boards to make sure decisions about COVID-19 school closures, pandemic response procedures, and safety protocols are communicated to parents, students, employees, and the public in a clear, timely, and understandable way.
We are appreciative of the work Ms.Cummings does for our school district. She works hard to make sure the positive stories about our students, staff, and the school district as a whole are shared with the public. As a former educator, she understands the daily operations of a school system. With her history of working in Public Relations in Baldwin County, she is skilled in working with the community. Please join us in thanking Ms. Cummings for communicating both internally and externally all the good news happening in the Baldwin County School District.

The school board recognized the Baldwin County School Nutrition Department for receiving the 2021 No Kid Hungry Georgia League of Hunger Heroes Award. Baldwin School Nutrition Director, Susan Nelson, accepted the plaque and certificate on behalf of the school nutrition department.
Throughout the month of May, No Kid Hungry Georgia took the opportunity to celebrate Georgia's incredible school nutrition staff by honoring them for their commitment to ensuring that students have the nutrition they need to learn. For over a year, schools across Georgia have stopped at nothing to shift operations and adapt their meal programs to curbside pick-up, home delivery, and classroom feeding.
Ms. Nelson and her school nutrition staff have provided numerous opportunities for area children to receive free meals throughout the pandemic. The Baldwin County School Nutrition Department continues to be committed to its mission to provide healthy, nutritious meals to children and their families throughout the community through the summer meal program. Since March 2020, the school nutrition department has served close to 2 million meals to the children of this community.
