A Note from Marcella

Dear Funders, Families, and Friends,

It is with deep gratitude and great excitement that I step into the role of Executive Director at our beloved Rainey Institute. This organization has been a sanctuary for creativity, expression, and growth for over 120 years —and I am honored to help guide its next chapter.

Our mission remains rooted in empowering young artists to explore their voices through dance, music, theater, and visual arts. I just wrapped up my first month in office, and I am even more excited to be here than before I started! The staff have been very supportive, the Board has been encouraging, and I now turn my focus to meeting our youth, their families, and the funding and community partners who make our mission possible.

As I look to the month of October, I'll be hosting a meet-and-greet table at both the Hough and Pivot locations towards the end of certain weeks (Thursdays at Pivot and Fridays at Hough). Parents, please stop by the table, grab a snack, and chat with me about your children. They are the reason we are here, so learning what you hope to see in their artistic journey is exciting for our Staff and me. Thank you for entrusting us with your children; we pledge to nurture their confidence, curiosity, and craft in a safe and inspiring environment.

To our community partners and funders, I am just starting to schedule introductory meetings, and I look forward to getting to know your areas of interest within the arts and in youth development. Thank you for supporting a unique aspect of our city; community building and development that is fueled and centered in the arts. Your support impacts every brushstroke, every rehearsal, every breakthrough moment. We are committed to transparency, impact, and innovation—and we invite you to visit often, witness the magic, and see your investment come to life.

Let's work together to build a vibrant, inclusive arts community where imagination thrives and art changes lives!

Warmly,
Marcella

After-School Kicks Off Thanks to Key Support

Our After-School Program kicked off on September 8th, and our spaces are now full of students learning and exploring music, dance, drama, and visual arts each day.

We are so grateful to our key funding partners who make it possible to to maintain affordable tuition rates for our families, including: The Cleveland Foundation, Paul M. Angell Foundation, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, David & Inez Myers Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, Starting Point, George Gund Foundation, KeyBank Foundation, and Treu-Mart Fund.

All gifts to Rainey, including yours, help make this possible. Thank you!
