Workday Transition: What You Need to Know

The upcoming transition to Workday is scheduled to take place later this year. Workday will effectively change the way we:

  • Procure products and services.
  • Access personal data through self-service reporting.
  • Clock in and out of work.
  • Submit and approve time off and paid time off requests.
  • Update payroll, tax, and beneficiary information.
  • And more!

Workday is a cloud-based, all-in-one Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, IT, and procurement system that will streamline our workflow. It will enhance departmental cooperation with report gathering and sharing; plus it is easy to use, allowing better utilization of time. Training will soon be available to support all employees during the transition.

To learn more about Workday, refer to the Frequently Asked Questions or email the Workday team.

Keep Patients Covered During Medi-Cal Renewal

With the end of the continuous coverage requirement, all Medi-Cal patients must renew their eligibility to keep their benefits. Remind Medi-Cal patients to update their information by phone, mail, online, or in person. AltaMed created RenewWithAltaMed.com which contains a series of step-by-step videos to show patients how they can update their information or complete their Medi-Cal renewal application.

Please share the Medi-Cal renewal flyer with patients and refer to the Frequently Asked Questions for additional information.

In addition, to assist patients in filling out their Medi-Cal renewal packets, AltaMed has scheduled a workshop on Thursday, July 20 at AltaMed Medical and Dental Group – South Gate (8627 Atlantic Ave.) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information, contact Community Affairs.

AltaMed Signs White House Pledge for Climate Action

AltaMed has taken a significant step towards a greener future by becoming one of more than 100 health care organizations to sign the White House/Health and Human Services Health Sector Climate Pledge. The pledge is a voluntary commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, become more sustainable, and adapt to changes in our environment and climate.

As part of our pledge, AltaMed has formed the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CAR) work group to develop recommendations for our company, staff, patients, and community to reduce their carbon footprint. The work groups first two recommendations include:

  • Improving the way we recycle and compost across the organization.
  • Reducing unnecessary printing and paper waste.

Stay tuned for updates and opportunities related to our eco-friendly initiatives. To learn more about the CAR work group, contact Alma Arenas, Administrative Assistant. Lets work together to build a sustainable future!
