AltaMed Signs White House Pledge for Climate Action
AltaMed has taken a significant step towards a greener future by becoming one of more than 100 health care organizations to sign the White House/Health and Human Services Health Sector Climate Pledge. The pledge is a voluntary commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, become more sustainable, and adapt to changes in our environment and climate.
As part of our pledge, AltaMed has formed the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CAR) work group to develop recommendations for our company, staff, patients, and community to reduce their carbon footprint. The work group’s first two recommendations include:
- Improving the way we recycle and compost across the organization.
- Reducing unnecessary printing and paper waste.
Stay tuned for updates and opportunities related to our eco-friendly initiatives. To learn more about the CAR work group, contact Alma Arenas, Administrative Assistant. Let’s work together to build a sustainable future!
