Annual Employee Engagement Survey
The annual Employee Engagement survey, conducted through Press Ganey, will begin Monday, August 14 and will run through Tuesday, September 5. Employees are encouraged to take part in the confidential survey. Stay tuned for more information.

New Leave of Absence Vendor
Effective Tuesday, August 1, AltaMed will transition from ADP Total Absence Management to Control Source, who will manage all Leave of Absence (LOA) requests. AltaMed employees currently on a LOA will be contacted directly by Control Source about this change. The AltaMed Leave Center website www.AltaMedLeave.com will be available to submit new leave requests beginning Tuesday, August 1 when the website will go live.
LOA Requests Beginning Tuesday, August 1:
To file for a LOA, employees can log in to the AltaMed Leave Center at www.AltaMedLeave.com.
- Username is your first initial of your first name and your last name followed by your date of birth (mmddyy) with no spaces in between.
- The temporary password is the last six digits of your social security number. After logging in, you will be prompted to change your password.
- Click Submit Leave to request a new LOA.
- Once you have submitted your LOA, you will receive a leave request number and a URL link to view and add documents to your request.
Current LOA and Intermittent Leave:
If an employee has any questions or updates to their current leave, such as requesting an extension, reporting an intermittent absence, or submitting new documentation, after Tuesday, August 1, you can:
1. Submit your request via AltaMed Leave Center www.AltaMedLeave.com.
- Click the View Open Leave Request.
- Click Leave of Absence Documentation.
- Click Choose File and Load Documentation.
2. Submit via email: AltaMedLeave@controlsourceinc.com.
3. Submit by fax: (888) 671-2140.
Employees can also contact Control Source at (888) 296-4177 to request a new leave or check on a current leave. For questions, contact the Leave of Absence department.

Kicking off the Workday Journey
On Tuesday, July 18, the Workday Change Network kickoff took place with more than 300 AltaMed employees. The kickoff was an opportunity for selected employees to hear how Workday will foster productivity, collaboration, and real-time, data-driven decision making. Attendees learned more about their roles and responsibilities as part of the Workday Change Network. The network is comprised of Super Users and Change Champions, who are integral to employee training and adoption of Workday.
Workday will be our new enterprise resource planning system, replacing several existing systems, including ADP, Coupa, Cornerstone, Oracle Hyperion, and more. It will streamline the way we work and improve how AltaMed serves its communities and its patients. For questions about Workday, please email Workday@AltaMed.org.

Resources to Help Keep Patients Covered During Medi-Cal Renewal
With the end of the continuous coverage requirement, all Medi-Cal patients must renew their eligibility to keep their benefits. Remind Medi-Cal patients to update their information by phone, mail, online, or in person. AltaMed has scheduled the following Medi-Cal renewal pop-ups to assist patients in filling out their Medi-Cal renewal packets:

Reminder to Complete HIPAA Privacy and Security Training
All employees are required to complete the Q3 Compliance Training by Friday, September 15. This quarter’s training includes the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) module, which is critical for health care organizations, like AltaMed, to comply with federal, state, and health plan requirements. Complete the training by the deadline to help reduce HIPAA violations, protect patient information, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Join the Wellness Challenge
Don’t miss the Focus on Fitness employee wellness challenge, which begins Monday, August 14 and runs through Monday, September 25. Follow the steps below to register for the challenge:

Log in to the Vitality website, go to the Community tab, and click Challenges, or;
- Log in to the Vitality Today app and tap on the Challenges icon on the home screen.
Registration is open from Tuesday, August 1 through Sunday, August 13. Complete the challenge action steps and earn LiveWell points through Vitality.

- Complete 22 standard or advanced workouts during the six-week challenge.
- Create and check into a goal five times (one check-in per week for at least five weeks).
- Complete Physical Activity Bingo.

Workforce Development Accepting Applications for AHEC Scholars Program
AltaMed Workforce Development is accepting applications for its Area Health Education Center (AHEC) program for employees pursuing health professions focusing on community-oriented education, clinical training, and community-based outreach. Friends and family of employees who are also pursuing health professions are eligible to apply.

Gift-Giving Guidance for Employees
Compliance reminds all employees that giving or receiving gifts from contractors, vendors, or patients, including cash, event tickets, expensive gifts, and special discount privileges, are prohibited per the AltaMed Business Code of Conduct. However, receipt of gifts valued under $25 or those that can be shared with staff may be allowed. Please politely decline any prohibited gifts and report those occurrences and receipt of all gifts to the Office of Compliance and Risk Management at (323) 427-2412 or the Compliance Hotline at (888) 418-1398.
