Here’s hoping that you’re having a Fabulous summer season; it’s so lovely in our region: Warm (HOT!) days but very comfortable nights, rain that’s usually cooperative as to timing & amount, and mountain breezes that keep mosquitos away. We have had more humidity than usual, so you may have noticed very lush landscapes all around!
Still, there are some garden chores to keep in mind—such as:
- Stay on top of newly emerging weeds, before they set seed and/or develop stronger roots. *Remember the MULCH??
- Continue to deadhead blooming shrubs and perennials.
- Imagine, if you could, are there any other aspects to your yard that you’d enjoy for next summer?!
- Review your irrigation settings and/or watering regimen; remember to soak plants deeply but less frequently to encourage roots to grow downward & better handle dry spells—Save on the water bill, too!
Now is also a great time to consider updating & enhancing your landscape. We can help, with planning, design and implementation!
