From the Principal's Desk
Dear Blossom Hill Families:
As this incredible year draws to a close, we would like to take the opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the many dedicated members of our learning community that make our school such a special place to learn and blossom.
Thank you to our Home & School Club! This year, the hard working, high energy, and extremely capable members gave generously of their time and talents whenever and wherever they were needed. The H & SC Board members:
Jennifer Shapiro, Ellen Feichtmeir, Susan Carter Anderson, Chitra Ramaswamy, Yamini Ghadge,
and
Jen Saban
leave us with a legacy and responsibility to fulfill their mission of promoting school and community relationships that enhance the learning of all students that attend Blossom Hill. It is also due to their leadership and enthusiastic support of our academic programs and community outreach that we able to hold our Kinder Playdate in the Park, New Family Coffees, Family Math Night, Family Movie Night, Harvest Festival, Halloween Parade to the Terraces, Staff Appreciation Weeks, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Chorus, Hicklebee’s Book Fair, “Hot Rod” play, Science Fair, Honeybee Choir, and the Hive. A special thank you to all of our many parent volunteers who gave countless hours to make all of these amazing events happen. A big, big thank you goes to our Committee Chairs for their hard work and dedication throughout the year:
Christi Zenteno, Lisa Borland, Jen Saban, Sonya Murrett, Pam Parisi, Brenda Chiu, Ellen Feichtmeir, Debbie Bluestone, Amanda Caruso, Cat Leitch, Tara Moseley, Francine Shore, Ting Engelman, Wendi Redo, Ling Law, Kimberly Keck, Michelle Avlas, Amy Gregor, Christy Kersten, Szilvia Decoin, Jennifer Shapiro, Malea Mordaunt, Shadi Allen, Jo Venezia, Melissa Crow, Nicole Duke, Bonnie Pang, Elizabeth Musselman, Kerry Newlin, Meena Shams, Rachel Pandipati, Irene Guilbaud-Haaima, Gigi Harrell, Dana Green, Kristin Hutchinson, Ali Gangi,
and
Kathleen Willey.
Great gratitude also goes to our Los Gatos Educational Foundation Captain
Eric Dunstan
who was ever present to help encourage funding for programs and personnel at our school and across the district. Enormous appreciation and recognition to
Christi Zenteno
, for her tireless efforts behind the scenes to publish the Home & School Club’s newsletter, the
Beehive,
each and every week. Christi is passing the torch (or the keyboard) and we are extremely grateful for her multiple years of support.
Thank you to our School Site Council representatives:
Ling Law, Malea Mordaunt, Meena Nathan, Kerry Perkins, Francine Shore, Julie Sheehan, Lucia Arredondo, Jenelle Bertucelli,
and
Fran Mastroianni.
Throughout the year, this dedicated and well-informed group worked to develop and implement the Single Plan for Student Achievement, thus guiding our school-wide quest for continuous improvement. Each participant consistently brought valuable perspective and expertise to their governance role and made significant contributions to our school community.
Thank you to each of our families for sending your children to school ready to learn and supporting them in the overnight pivot to Remote Learning. It is through the spirit of partnership that we are able to provide our students an exemplary educational experience.
Thanks also go out to our many dedicated parent volunteers. YOU are a key component of our school’s success. The thousands of hours donated each year in our classrooms and throughout the school are priceless.
Thank you to our wonderful support staff. You consistently demonstrated a high degree of dedication and handled the incredible demands (and interruptions) with kindness, skill, and efficiency. We are indeed fortunate to have such caring people work with our children each day.
Thank you to our multi-talented faculty. You worked tirelessly to provide a positive learning climate full of inspiring, thought-provoking, standards-based instruction. We are also awed at your ability to pivot to Remote Learning and still make each child’s social/emotional well-being your priority while teaching the prioritized standards. You are among the best teachers in the profession!
A GIGANTIC THANKS goes out to our students for the joy, zest, and enthusiasm you bring to school and the screen each day. It is a gift to work with you and share in your life! We wish our beloved fifth graders, as well as those families that are leaving us, great adventures and the fondest of farewells. You will be missed!
Since this is the last
Beehive
for the school year, we are sending along best wishes to all for a safe, fun-filled summer full of family, friends, and lots of reading!
In education together,
Lisa Reynolds, Principal
