From the Principal's Desk
Dear Blossom Hill Families:
The staff and I would like to express our deepest gratitude for all the kindness and thoughtfulness you have shown us during Staff Appreciation Week. From the beautiful, heartfelt message from the H & SC created and coordinated by
Melissa Crow
&
Kristin Hutchinson
to the charming photos, videos, and drive-by greetings. Every teacher I have spoken to has been brought to tears by your sentiments.
While the journey we have shared over the past seven weeks has changed our world as we once knew it, the process has highlighted what is most dear and important in our lives.
I speak for our staff when I share that there is no other place we would rather be than at Blossom Hill School with our beloved students. In the interim, we will continue to do our best to provide meaningful connections and an educational program that highlights social emotional well-being and academic growth for your child(ren). Your herculean efforts to partner with us and support your student(s) to be successful remote learners is key to success. With all the demands on your time right now, I hope you are able to celebrate your wins as a parent. You are and always will be your child’s first and most important teacher.
For a special treat, please checkout Mrs. Grespan’s videos on our library website
Blossom Hill
. We all know she has gifts like no other for supporting inclusivity and bringing the fun to the library. Lucky for us she has taken her talents to the virtual world where you can find entertaining videos highlighting books, puzzles, and projects.
With great gratitude and appreciation,
Lisa Reynolds, Principal

A big round of applause to the
Feed Our Heroes
initiative. Under the direction of LGEF, Feed Our Heroes has already raised over $65,000 (3,250 meals). Thank you to
Deborah Weinstein
, Director of LGEF, for organizing the many groups involved this amazing community outreach that not only supports the doctors and nurses on the front lines fighting this pandemic, but also many local restaurants that have been negatively impacted by our current situation. Thank you also to Blossom Hill parent
Andrew Ferguson
for his generous matching donation to Feed Our Heroes. This is “Service Above Self” at its best.

Our Yearbook Chairperson,
Brenda Chiu
, has produced an incredible yearbook to remember the 2019-2020 school year (and it has been one for the books). Thank you for giving us this wonderful gift, and thank you to
Caitlin Zollinger
for the absolutely beautiful cover. Brenda worked diligently to take and gather photos from all classes and events. Brenda also had the challenge of working with a new yearbook company, TreeRing, and negotiated not only a real deal on the cost, but also quickly redirected the shipment of the yearbooks to our homes. (Brenda will keep the yearbooks until next school year of anyone who did not change their shipping address.) Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Feed Our Heroes is a campaign, led by our Los Gatos Education community, to supply free meals to local healthcare workers fighting the coronavirus.
The campaign has already raised money for over 2,200 meals, but more are needed. All meals are sourced from Los Gatos restaurants, providing local businesses much-needed support during these tough times.
A simple meal at the end of a long shift is well-deserved thanks to our healthcare worker’s dedication and service.
We hope you will join us and contribute to Feed Our Heroes.
Visit:
www.feedourheroes.org
All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of the funds go towards purchasing meals.
Feed Our Heroes fits alongside #FeedTheNeed BayArea, another local initiative led by the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce. #FeedTheNeedBayArea provides meals for the most vulnerable Los Gatos citizens (seniors, displaced workers, low-income families), while Feed Our Heroes supports healthcare workers. Both campaigns are worthy of your support.
