2021-2022
From The Principal's Desk
Dear Blossom Hill Families:

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!  Everyone is in high spirits and happy to be back at school.  You can literally feel the enthusiasm in the air!  Students are excited about their classes, teachers, friends, and all the delights in-person learning brings.

At Blossom Hill, the staff is focused on nurturing and supporting the development of each child’s social/emotional well-being and academic excellence. Of key importance is the faculty’s commitment to create a caring climate in which every child is cherished and encouraged to develop their emotional intelligence and social problem-solving skills.  In addition, by teaching rigorous, standards-based content in the core academic areas and valuing the arts, inquiry-based science, and physical education, we are able to develop confident life-long learners prepared to thrive in the 21st century.

All of us at Blossom Hill look forward to providing a safe and positive learning experience for your child.  One of the vital components for a successful year is ongoing communication between parents and the staff.  Anytime you have a question or concern you need to share about your child, please contact your child’s teacher.  In addition, it is a priority to me to have a supportive relationship with all Blossom Hill students.  If you would like to speak with me, please don’t hesitate to contact me by email, phone, or handwritten note.  I value direct and open communication and am dedicated to continuous improvement to make Blossom Hill the best school it can be.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at Back-to-School Night. Please reference the schedule below.

Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders
We need all Blossom Hill parents and students help to make drop off and pick up run smoothly. Please note:
  • The bike rack outside of the office is for adult bikes only. All students must park their bikes at the bike racks inside the gates.
  • Please do not crowd the gates at pick up. Parents need to allow room for students to exit the gates easily.
  • Please do not leave your car when you are in the pick up lane. You need to keep moving forward so that all cars can safely enter the pick up lanes.
  • Please do not block the crosswalk with your car when you are entering the drive thru lanes. This is dangerous for our students who then have to walk around cars and out of the crosswalk.

Welcome Back Parent Volunteers!
The Home & School Club needs your help! We are very excited that volunteers will be allowed back on campus this school year. There are many opportunities available. To find out more about each job, please go to Volunteer Opportunities at our H&SC website. Please complete the form below to let the H&SC and your child's classroom teacher know what areas you are interested in lending a hand. Some positions may be filled by a team of volunteers. You may sign up for as many jobs as you would like. After sign ups close, you will be contacted about your volunteer job(s). Sign ups for classroom volunteers (such as reading stations, paper filing, etc.) will be managed by your child's teacher directly.
If you do not have a Google account, you may have difficulty opening the Volunteer Sign Ups Form. Click here to find out how you can open the form without a Google account.

Los Gatos Union School District Parcel Tax
Measure B on November 2nd Ballot
Quality schools are at the heart of our town. For over 30 years Los Gatos and Monte Sereno students have relied on locally controlled funding. But the funding level has not increased in 20 years...and the current measure is about to expire. If not renewed, our schools will lose $2.7 million in funding each year requiring deep cuts, including layoffs of teaching staff.

Measure B will renew school funding at $335 per parcel, providing approximately $3.2 million in annual funding for local elementary and middle schools. Measure B would expire in 8 years. To learn more about Measure B and its impact, visit www.lgusd.org/renewalmeasure.
Free Morning Snack and Lunch Program Continues!
Welcome back! We are thrilled to be able to continue serving morning snack and lunch for all K-8 students free of charge for the 21-22 school year. We will be offering grab and go meals and can accommodate special dietary needs by emailing [email protected]

We look forward to expanding our simple and fresh menu with chef specials.
