From The Principal's Desk
Dear Blossom Hill Families:

I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying the holiday season and this festive time of year. It has felt extra special to have the opportunity to share good cheer with our students back to the traditional school schedule.

As we celebrate the season of giving, I offer you the opportunity to join with me and the BH Team to “Bee the Source of Someone’s Joy” and support local migrant families in the Salinas Valley. Last week, Mrs. Grespan read Amelia’s Road by Linda Jacobs Altman to each class during their visit to the library. The story provided a glimpse into the life of a migrant family. It is a poignant and realistic portrayal, providing a rich trove of information to build appreciation, compassion, and empathy for those who provide so much for all of us.

For more details about supporting our Holiday Drive, please see below:
Food and Clothing Drive for Families in Need
Your family can "Bee the Source of Someone's Joy" this month by donating clothing, toys, household goods and other items for families who really need support during these winter months. The Home & School Club is partnering with Claudia Coffey, Sara Cain and the Diocese of Monterey to meet the needs of families of migrant farmers in the Salinas Valley who need assistance. Please bring unwrapped toys, new clothing (of all sizes and genders), home goods, and non perishable food items to school between 12/6 and 12/15. Items can be left in boxes at the gate by the front office. Please contact Claudia Coffey or Sara Cain directly if you prefer to make a cash donation. No cash or gift cards will be accepted at school. For more information, please contact Soccorro at the Hispanic Ministries Department of the Diocese of Monterey.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

"Hive" Five for BH Vaccination Clinic
Thank you to the team of Blossom Hill volunteers who helped staff the LGUSD/Safeway vaccination clinic on campus on 11/10 and 12/1. Because of your efforts, we helped more than 200 students across LGUSD campuses get vaccinated! A special "Hive Five" goes to Rachel Pandipati, Christy Kersten, Jean Choi, Irene Wong, Britany Evans, Carolina Guerra-Torres, Jennifer Shapiro, Ting Engelman, Susie Sommerstad, Gloria Acerboni, Elke Billingsley, and Michelle Avlas. Thank you also to Safeway for providing the wonderful men and women who patiently and kindly worked with our students to get them vaccinated. And thank you to our students for getting their shots!
"Hive" Five for the Ugly Sweater Party
Our amazing Hive Parties Committee raised $8,000 for the Home & School Club this weekend at the Ugly Sweater Party. Many thanks to Danielle Peake, Julie Reynolds, Rachel Pandipati, Lucia Thompson, Libby Trevathan, Hana Chen, Cat Leitch, Amanda Caruso and Ellen Feichtmeir for hosting the party. Special recognition also goes to Luis at "No Problem Pools" for their generous sponsorship as well.
Welcome New Community Sponsors
The Blossom Home & School Club would like to thank our two newest Community Sponsors, No Problem Pools and Los Gatos Little League. No Problem Pools joined our sponsorship program at the Pollinator level and Los Gatos Little League has joined at the Bee-liever level. We are greatly appreciative of their support of our community. If you would like to become a Community Sponsor, please contact Trista Bernstein at fab@blossomhill.org.
Special thanks to Cole Dunstan, 7th grader, for designing the Sing 2 flyer.
Blossom Hill Home & School Club Needs Your Support!
Fun Fridays Needs Your Help!
Fun Fridays is looking for more family involvement. During lunch on Fridays, parent volunteers set up, manage, and put away yard games, quieter games (like the Jumbo Memory game), and often a craft or an art-related, service opportunity.

Over dinner this week, ask your child what their favorite part of Fun Fridays is. The kids have a great time! Please sign up here to volunteer if you can. You can volunteer for just one Friday or as frequently as you would like. (Please ensure your volunteer requirements are up-to-date by completing the forms here.)

Also, please email Fun Fridays Coordinator, Amy Gregor, mom of 1st and 4th grader, if you have any gently used yard games, light weight blankets, or craft supplies for donation.
