Dear Blossom Hill Families:
I would like to offer heartfelt gratitude to the One Community Campaign, our H&SC, and the SR2S program for sponsoring some exciting enrichment activities at our school this week.
Tomorrow, author Eric Kimmel will visit in-person to host three assemblies where he will read and share some of his many titles and discuss with students the process he works through when writing stories and publishing books. The assemblies will also include a Q & A opportunity for students to ask questions they are curious about. In addition, Mr. Kimmel will share lunch with both a primary and upper grade group of students to discuss his career as an author in more depth. These students were selected from a drawing held in the library.
In preparation for Author Kimmel’s visit, Mrs. Grespan has been sharing his books with students during their weekly class visit to the library. The H&SC is also making a generous donation of one signed Eric Kimmel book to each classroom library.
A visit such as this truly takes community effort and would not have been possible without the tireless support of our talented volunteers Francine Shore and Nicole Duke. In addition, Mrs. Grespan has handled countless details to set everyone up for success.
The FUN continues on Friday when the Safe Routes to School program, headed by former BH parent Wendy Riggs, sponsors two BMX assemblies outside on the blacktop. These shows will include awesome trick riding along with bicycle safety tips and the importance of making personal healthy choices.
I hope you have the opportunity to discuss these events with your child(ren) and share in their experiences.
It is a privilege and joy to bring enrichment opportunities to our learning community. Thank you for your ongoing support to make it possible.
In education together,
Lisa Reynolds
