2020-2021
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Blossom Hill Families,

The buzz of student voices on campus is such a gift! I am extremely proud of the continued effort put forth by students, staff, and parents to make Reopening LGUSD possible. Below are a few important reminders and notifications:

Travel Quarantine Roomer Agreement
To ensure the safety of all students and staff, Team LGUSD is asking the parents of all Roomers (students who attend in person) to complete this Travel Quarantine Roomer Agreement before returning back to school after the February break. TK-5 Cohort A students should return this form at their entrance gate on Monday, February 22. TK-5 Cohort B students should return this form at their entrance gate on Thursday, Feb. 25. Please note that the Student Symptom Health Checker (email) must also be completed every day a child is on campus.
COVID Testing
Roomers are strongly encouraged to participate in the next COVID testing dates. Be sure to register before arrival if it is your child’s first COVID test. After registering once, you do not need to re-register. Here are the upcoming COVID testing dates:

Please note that this round of testing will take place at RJ Fisher Middle School.
Conference Week March 1-5
Conferences week is on the horizon! Please look for a sign-up sheet from your child’s teacher. You are strongly encouraged to sign-up for this virtual meeting to discuss your child’s successes and areas for growth. There will be no P.M. 2:00-2:30 P.M. connection during this week due to conferences.

As next week is our February Break, we look forward to resuming school on February 22. Please do your part to abide by the County Travel restrictions, wear a mask, and make good decisions. Together, we can keep our schools open!

In education together,
Lisa Reynolds
Principal, Blossom Hill School

Join the Conversation
The LGUSD Equity Action Team invites the community to a conversation and discussion on equity and inclusion. Epoch Education will facilitate the discussion.

LGUSD Zoom.

Everyone is welcome. A diversity of voices helps us grow as a community.
"Roomer" Daily Health Checker Clarification
  • If your child is a Roomer, you will receive an automated “Student Health Checker” email at 6:30 A.M. on each day your child will be physically present on campus. The form will have the same set of questions each day. You do not need to print the form out.
  • If this form is not completed electronically by 7:30 A.M. for each of your children, you will be sent a reminder email. Complete this form before bringing your child to campus. This is your child’s “ticket” to participate in-person. There will be no exceptions.
  • At 8:05 A.M., a list of all Roomers who completed the form will be printed at the Blossom Hill office. Each staff member checking students in at the gates will have those lists in hand. That is why it must be filled out no later than 8 A.M.
  • If your child arrives at school and this form has not been completed by 8:00 A.M., you will be required to pick up your child and your child will Zoom for the rest of the day. Having to manually ask these questions would result in huge lines and crowding at the gates. In order for this process to work, the form must be submitted electronically by 8am.
  • Thank you for supporting our safe arrival protocol. Please contact the school’s office at 408-335-2100 if you do not receive this form by 7:30 A.M.
Food Services Update
In order to provide to-go lunch options for all students (Roomers and Zoomers), we are changing a few details of our meal program that we wanted to bring to your attention.

  1. Grab-n-Go lunches will be available for all students (Roomers and Zoomers) at each campus exit gate from 11:45am - 12:15pm MTThF (elementary) and 10:45 -11:15am M-F (middle school). The tables are marked by menu item and students can grab a breakfast snack/lunch to eat at home. These meals are complimentary for all students.
  2. Complimentary meals are also available for drive-through pick up at Fisher. The hours for drive-through have changed slightly and will be open from 11:30am-1:00pm daily M-F.
  3. Any special dietary needs to contact Lupe Pena directly at lpena@lgusd.org
  4. We will publish the menu and meal schedule weekly on Wednesdays so that you may plan ahead.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…
SPRING 2021 CONFERENCE WEEK
It is a happy time for the Roomers and Zoomers. Despite pandemics, fires, curious news crews, power outages and winter storms, the Blossom Hill staff continues to push forward in their pursuit of academic excellence across the galaxy.
Led by Lisa Reynolds, Blossom Hill teachers and staff continue to help our students “reach for the stars” and achieve academic success across multiple platforms. Armed with knowledge, creativity and determination, our teachers and staff prove again and again that they are truly “out of this world.”

Spring 2021 Conference Week is almost here and the Home & School Club “Bee-lieve Brigade” is continuing our long-standing tradition of hosting daily lunches for our “Space-tacular” staff during conference week. Support our inter-galactic superstars by making cash donations for catering and other expenses during conference week lunches.
Please contact Kristin Hutchinson if you have any questions at staffappreciation@blossomhill.org. Thank you for showing our amazing teachers and staff how much we appreciate them!

  • March 1-5 - Project slides and videos are due for upload.

  • March 11 and 12 - Virtual Science Fair website is live for participants.

Valentines for the Terraces
Help us celebrate Valentine's Day by sending love to our friends at the Terraces. We will be collecting Valentine's hearts to mount onto poster boards which will be displayed in the common areas throughout the Terraces for all the residents to enjoy. Just grab some red, white, or pink paper and some scissors, cut out a heart shape, and write your Valentine's message. Please drop them off in the box in front of the office anytime by 4pm tomorrow, February 11th. Thank you for helping us spread joy in our community.
Photos Needed for Blossom Hill Good News
Valentine's Photos
Does your child have Valentine's wishes he/she would like to share? If you would like your Valentines to be part of our Wednesday morning announcements, take a picture of your student and his/her Valentine's message (it could be a heart for the Terraces) and send them to Mrs. Sheehan at jsheehan@lgusd.org. Don't forget to also upload your pictures to your yearbook account at Treering. Thank you for helping to spread the good news!
Back to Campus Photos
Are you a Roomer? Please send pictures from the past two weeks of your child's "first" day of school to Mrs. Sheehan at jsheehan@lgusd.org. Don't forget to also upload your pictures to your yearbook account at Treering. We are in need of many more pictures for the yearbook.
Community Book Study
