Wednesdays at Snyder—MidWeek: A Place for Every Generation
One of the things I’ve grown to love most about Snyder Memorial Baptist Church is our people. Over the past several months, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many of you—especially our senior adults. As I’ve listened to your stories, one thing has become abundantly clear: some of your favorite memories of Snyder happened on Wednesday nights.
There was a time when the church family gathered around tables, shared meals, laughed together, prayed together, studied God’s Word together, and simply enjoyed being together.
This fall, we’d like to recapture that spirit.
Beginning Wednesday, September 9, we’re launching Snyder MidWeek—our weekly Family Night.
When I say “family,” I’m not talking only about families with children. I’m talking about our entire Snyder family. Whether you’re a preschooler or ninety-three years old, single, married, widowed, a young adult, an empty nester, or a grandparent, there is a place for you around the table.
Each Wednesday evening will begin with a shared meal because some of the best ministry happens over dinner. We’ll have the opportunity to slow down, catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and welcome guests who are looking for a church that feels like home.
After dinner, we’ll gather for a brief time of prayer and a devotional before moving into Bible studies and children’s activities designed to help every generation grow in Christ.
Why are we doing this?
Because healthy churches are built on healthy relationships. Throughout the New Testament, believers gathered regularly for the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42). Those priorities are just as important today as they were two thousand years ago.
Snyder MidWeek is about more than adding another event to the calendar. It is about strengthening our church family, encouraging one another, discipling the next generation, and creating a welcoming front door for new families in our community. We want guests to experience something that has always been one of Snyder’s greatest strengths—a church where people genuinely know and love one another.
This is also just the beginning. In October, our first Family Camp will serve as a natural extension of what we’re building on Wednesday nights, giving us an opportunity to deepen friendships, create lasting memories, and continue building momentum as we look toward the future.
As we move forward together, my prayer is simple: that we’ll honor Snyder’s rich heritage while building an even stronger future for the generations who are yet to come.
I hope you’ll make Snyder MidWeek a priority this fall. I can’t wait to see what God does as we gather around the table, open His Word, and grow together as one church family.
