Back to School Bash at Mt. Sinai Homes

Sunday, August 17, 6:30 - 8pm

Join us on Sunday, August 17, at Mt. Sinai Homes from 6:30–8pm as we host a Back to School Bash for our partner neighborhood, Mt. Sinai Homes. We'll have ice cream and slushies, fun bouncy houses, and slides for the kids, and we'll be handing out backpacks and school supplies to help them start the school year strong.

This event supports children from Margaret Willis School, one of our key ministry partners, and we’d love your help! Volunteers are needed to assist with desserts, supervise activities, and distribute school supplies.

Welcome Jenny Basie!

We welcome Jenny Basie as our new, permanent Church Pianist. Jenny replaces our long-term sub, Kerri Hurley, and the pianist rotation system we’ve used since Leslie Davis left a couple of years ago. Words fall short expressing appreciation to Kerri and the others for their sacrifice, dedication, and stewardship over the many months. I am deeply grateful. Thank you so very much!

Jenny is the wife of Mike Basie, an army chaplain stationed here. They have four daughters, Ruth, Lucy, Mary, and Elizabeth, and a fluffy gray schnoodle named Quincy. Jenny comes to us from another church in our area, and we are delighted to have her on staff at Snyder. You will want to meet her.

She comes with a wealth of education and experience. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in music from Erskine College and a Master of Music in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Colorado, her professional experience includes church accompanist positions in Gastonia, NC; Fort Benning, GA; Richmond Hill, GA; Killeen, TX; and Fayetteville, NC. Please take a second when you see her on a Sunday morning to say a word of welcome and share the “sweet, sweet Spirit” we enjoy at Snyder.

Thank you for your generosity!
