Dear Snyder Family,
Being part of this church for the last 21+ years has been a great blessing to me and our family. We DEEPLY appreciate the “sweet, sweet spirit,” and as your Administrator, I have worked with Pastors, Staff, Area Directors, and lay Leaders to help make Snyder what God has called it to be.
For a variety of reasons, it is time for me to step away from the role of Church Administrator and retire. In April, I asked the Personnel Committee to accept my resignation effective at the end of this month. However, I’ve also told Blake I am willing to extend 60 or 90 days to help with a transition as needed. Please pray with us that Snyder will find the right person for this ministry position.
You might ask: “Why now?” There are several reasons: I turn 69 later this year, and most previous staff at Snyder have retired in their mid-60s. This July, I will have worked full-time for 47 years in Christian ministry, and of those 47 years, about 30 of them have been as a Church Administrator. Trust me, that’s enough for anyone!
And why, just as the Generations projects are about to start? In a perfect world, the building refurbishment projects would have started several years ago, and I could have retired in my mid-60s with those complete. But for various reasons – the 2020 vision priorities, Covid, and a pastoral change among them - that just wasn’t to be. So now it’s best for Snyder and for my successor that I step aside and let them be part of the projects from the ground up. I have great confidence in our Strategic Planning and Furnishings & Decorations Committees, our Owner’s Rep., and our Project team as they lead us well through this process.
Please know this: Fayetteville is our home; Snyder is our church; you and many others like you are our friends. We love you and look forward to continuing to serve alongside you here in ministries where we can be helpful.
Thank you all,
Geron & Kathy Gambill
