Our Testimony Before the U.S. EPA: Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Establishing Future Emissions Standards for Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Above all else, this proposed rule must enable continued investment in the next generation of diesel technology by manufacturers, suppliers, and their customers. Without that, none of the anticipated benefits will accrue, older trucks will stay on the road for longer, and both manufacturers and suppliers will not have the capital to invest in future fuels and technologies.

In the meantime, getting more of the current generation of advanced diesel technology on the road and using more advanced low carbon renewable biodiesel fuels will continue to deliver everything we need...

“Renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel are promising ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from heavy-duty trucks and airplanes. Wyoming is already a leading producer of renewable diesel and is expected to produce a lot more in the near future. Currently, outdated and unnecessary regulations are limiting the use of this fuel. Our bipartisan bill will eliminate that red tape. It will also offer incentives to boost production of additional renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel here in the United States. It’s a win for the environment and a win for America’s economy.”

Diesel Data
There is no questioning the power, performance, versatility, and efficiency of a diesel tractor. But did you know that until 1952, nearly all of them had gasoline or liquid propane engines?

The introduction of Stanadyne’s Roosa Master diesel fuel injection pump allowed farmers to enjoy all the advantages of diesel power for a very small premium. The Hercules Motors Corporation placed the first order for Roosa Master Model A pumps for Oliver Cletrac tractors in 1952. By 1961, nearly every diesel farm tractor built in the United States was equipped with a Roosa Master pump. By 1976, diesel-powered tractors had reached a 91 percent market share.
