Shalom dear friends,
Last week, Israel faced massive wildfires. While some fires were due to the dry weather and careless travelers, others were do to arson, an act of terror, specifically the wildfires in Haifa that consumed 12 neighborhoods.
In 5 days, the fires consumed 41,000 square meters of forest, neighborhoods, residential areas, including kindergartens and schools.
Over 75,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes, thousands of wildlife perished and a state of emergency was declared.
But true friendship is revealed in times of need.
Over 15 countries sent aid to Israel in the form of fire fighters, fire trucks, firefighting planes and most importantly, the Super Tanker, the largest firefighting plane in the world, sent to us by our brothers and sisters in the USA.
Friends from all over the world sent prayers, asked about the situation and about my own family.
In Israel, The true strength of the Children of God was revealed once again. People from all over opened their homes and their hearts to those who lost their homes to the fires.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior” (Isaiah 43:2-3).
My oldest daughter asked me, “Now what do we do?” I said to her, “Now it’s the time to rebuild the homes and replant the trees and be like the trees themselves!”
"
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper”
For these commandments, we at the Bible Comes to Life decided to replant the land and to make it greener than before.
Every study group that comes to Israel with our Bible Center will take part in rebuilding and planting a tree in our beloved Land.
We hope to see you soon and rebuild together.
Thank you all.
Yours,
Omer
