The Biggest Building Project New Mexico Has Ever Seen…
Dear Friends,
In ancient Persia, a simple man was burdened for the work of God. The humble cupbearer to King Artaxerxes found his heart greatly burdened by the news that the city of his ancestors, Jerusalem, lay unprotected, broken down, and in great trouble. Not only did he yearn for the protection and prosperity of his people, but he also yearned deeply for the walls of Jerusalem to accurately reflect the power, strong hand, and redemption of the God of Israel.
And so, with a willing heart he began to pray for God to move in his circumstances so that he might be able to make a difference in the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls and the renovation of Jerusalem’s hearts.

God's work will always face opposition; but remember who is preparing the way.
The task of rebuilding the walls was not an easy one, yet God overcame obstacle after obstacle. Nehemiah needed to be released from his current position to be able to return to Jerusalem; done, the King asked how long he needed. Nehemiah needed supplies from the king’s forest and clear trade routes to bring those supplies safely to Jerusalem; done, the King wrote letters to provide and prepare the way. Nehemiah needed position to be able to rally the people and pull everyone into this massive project; done, the King appointed him governor.
Nehemiah set out to accomplish one of the largest building projects in history because God had burdened his heart to see God’s people renewed, God’s city restored, and God’s power realized. Make no mistake, the path was not easy. You see, any time God’s work is being done, the enemy will become angry. Nehemiah’s enemies tried to rise against him, but God confused their plans every step of the way so that walls of protection could be rebuilt and hearts could be renewed.

A building project of our own...
We face the same massive building project in New Mexico today. We have been burdened by the unprotected, broken down, and troubled state of the family. A God-constructed unit that was originally intended to reflect the love of the Father and the unmistakable design of the creator has now been attacked and torn down by an enemy who seeks to destroy the reputation of the Almighty God.
It’s time to rebuild the walls, New Mexico. It’s time to seek God’s provision, protection, and promises in one of the largest, most daunting building projects this world has ever seen.
God’s people joined together in unity to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem; we must join together in unity to rebuild in New Mexico. God’s people rebuilt with tools in one hand and a sword in the other; we must do the same to protect the family and refuse to allow opposition to keep us from our God given task.
God’s people learned that it was God that gave the victory and that all that was required of them was obedient determination. We must take each step in faith, acting with obedient determination to see God restore the family in New Mexico.
God has given us beautiful tools to rebuild the family. From the truth of his word and how he created the family to very current circumstances such as the Referendum Project, God is working. He is rebuilding and he is calling us to work, and we know the opposition is trying to stop us.

Real opposition…
On June 16th, we saw our first deadline come in the Referendum Project. It was to be the deadline that would allow us to stop the bad bills from becoming law and instead put them on the ballot in 2024. Unfortunately, the laws will go into effect due to the SOS still refusing to acknowledge our Referendum petitions. Her refusal to recognize our petitions is due to her decision to designate these 6 laws as “preservation of public peace, health, and safety,” a designation which she has no power or authority to make.
As we’ve explained before, only the legislature can designate a law as “for the preservation of public peace, health, and safety,” by including three essential elements into the law before it is passed. None of the bills for which we are petitioning for referendum contain the essential elements.
The SOS is simply grand standing in order to discourage, intimidate, and try to stop our efforts.
But we will not stop.
In obedient determination we will trust the Lord to confuse the plans of opposition and we will continue forward with our tool in one hand as we collect petition signatures and pour into New Mexico families, and our sword in the other as we fight the opposition through legal battles.
If you are willing to build with us, there are three things you must do:
|
BE IN THE KNOW: The Referendum Project is still in full swing, and we are still collecting signatures to get these 6 laws on the ballot in 2024. They may be going into effect, but they can still be repealed by voting them down on the ballot next year. Do not stop, do not think you’ve missed your opportunity; the project continues.
|
CONSIDER YOUR TOOLS: While it is easy to focus on the sword hand (our fight against the opposition), we must not neglect our tools (what we use to rebuild and renew). My husband and I always say, “Communication is key!” Are you communicating with your spouse, your children, your grandchildren? Are you creating environments in which you can teach your children how to recognize when something is contrary to God’s word while also creating a space in which your children can ask you questions about what they are seeing at school? What are you doing to strengthen your own family and how might you be able to help teach or encourage another family to do the same? Not sure how to do this? Just reach out to us, NMFAM is here to help.
|
BE ENCOURAGED! When God burden’s the hearts of his people, he has a plan. Enemy plans will be confused, and God’s plan will prevail, but our hearts must be turned to him. So, be encouraged in the power and might of our God while you also turn your heart to him in faithful humility and obedient submission.

Nehemiah’s burden to rebuild the walls became one of the most massive building projects in history and was completed in record time. Are you ready to see the same in New Mexico?
I know I am!
