TEDCO Announces First Round of SBIR/STTR Matching Funds Awardees
Created to strengthen the power of the SBIR/STTR awards, the Matching Funds program fosters job creation and economic development in Maryland by promoting the commercialization of research, facilitating technology transfer, and encouraging SBIR/STTR program applications. Through this opportunity, companies who have received an SBIR or STTR award within six months of the application cycle are eligible to apply for supplemental funding. Read More.

Maryland’s stem cell research fund is filling the gap
The State of Maryland’s venture capital arm, TEDCO, was one of the first to bet on Diagnostic Biochips, Inc., providing a seed investment that helped bring the company to life in 2013. But recognizing an opportunity working with stem cell research, the startup sought support from the Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF).
MSCRF, an independent program within TEDCO, focuses on identifying and fostering cutting-edge research and innovation in the field of regenerative medicine. It offers non-dilutive funding, meaning it doesn’t take equity or shares in return for the investment.
