Ferruginous Hawk Nest Cameras

Alberta's largest raptor, the ferruginous hawk, is listed as EndangeredMULTISARwith support from AltaLink, manages a series of hawk nesting poles to monitor their population and make nesting easier for them. The best part? Two of the nesting poles have wildlife cameras!

The hawks have landed!

The ferruginous hawks are back from their southern migration and have made themselves at home in their nests in southern Alberta.

April 4th Update

A mated bond.

Like many other birds of prey, the ferruginous hawk is not a social animal. Instead, it forms strong, lifelong pair bonds with its partner to share responsibilities.
