Diocesan/Deanery Camperships – The Office of the Bishop will award Camperships to students who demonstrate need. These Camperships will allow them to attend Episcopal camps within and near the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California. Camp attendance helps a wide range of youth from across our diocese. Time at church camp is a positive and intensive time of formation in which students grow their relationship in Christ and each other. Camp evangelizes those new to the church with a desire to pursue Christ. Finally, returning from camp transforms communities, as campers translate their experiences and new found hope when they return.
Camp Living Waters, Humboldt County – Camp Living Waters is a week-long Episcopal summer camp in the heart of the Redwood Valley. A non-profit camp based at St. Alban’s, Arcata, with staff drawn the faith communities of the North Coast, many of whom are youth, ages 16-18, who serve as counselors. We seek to provide a safe, spiritual environment for young people, ages 9-15, some of whom may not have another opportunity to experience a Christian community. Camp is structured so that we engage in service to others including serving meals, cleanup and random acts of love for "Secret Buddies." About one-third of our campers and counselors need a full or partial scholarship, and, camper fees typically cover just over half the cost of running the camp. At Camp Living Waters children and adults, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to experience the transformative love of Christ.
The Belfry, Davis and Sacramento – Home of Lutheran and Episcopal Campus Ministry at UC Davis and the Lutheran Episcopal Volunteer network (LEVN), a Young Adult Service Corps. The Belfry’s radical welcome and inclusion set us apart and demonstrate the best that our Episcopal and Lutheran faith traditions have to offer for UC Davis students. Our LEVN program provides an opportunity for young adults to explore their faith and their vocational call while building an inclusive, intentional community. After college or their LEVN year, our alumni go out into the world assured of their belovedness and call to service. Through this ministry, we transform communities for Christ one individual at a time.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Galt - For over 118 years St. Luke’s has been loving and serving the wider community. One of the ways that we reach out is by providing college scholarships to local high school students and involving them in a ministry of discipleship. We also support Ugandan refugees through our support of a school in Uganda.
