Goals for the Year
At “Back to School” Night, I shared with parents and guardians several goals that I had set for the current school year. For the next few weeks, I plan to share one goal each Friday and reflect on it. As the year moves forward, I will let families know how we are doing with achieving each of the goals that have been set.
-
Goal #1 is to raise academic rigor and raise AP scores. We have a good academic program. We have people working hard and students achieving. Despite lots of academic success, it is time to take the next BOLD step – to move from good to great! We can up the rigor in our classes and push and support our students as they achieve even more. For teachers, professional development, Advanced Placement webinars and workshops and department work will all be important strategies for achieving this goal. Our Academic Council Committee will be asked for input and leadership on this goal. For Student, we need to challenge them more, provide more opportunities to use technology and write more. Strategies we will consider in the future include a Curriculum Review, AP teachers’ training, enhancements to STEM curriculum and visiting other high schools to evaluate their academic programs.
Spring Musical
The Fine Arts Department is excited to announce its spring musical –Disney’s High School Musical! Mark your calendars now for Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th for the show. More information for both the show as well as auditions for our Saints will be forthcoming.
Theater Arts/Spring Musical Position Available
The Performing Arts Department is seeking a Theater Producer for its spring musical. The position runs from September 2025 until March 2026. We are seeking a dedicated, organized and faith-aligned person to oversee and manage the production of school theater performances. The Theater Producer will collaborate with faculty, students, and community members to bring high-quality productions to life while upholding Catholic values and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. This is a stipend-position based on experience. Key responsibilities include: Production Management, Collaboration, Student Engagement, Budgeting & Fundraising, Scheduling & Planning and Mission Alignment. For a detailed description of the job, click here: Theater Producer Job Description If you have questions or an interest in the position, please contact Mr. Scollick at bscollick@berkscatholic.org.
School IDs
All Saints received their ID card, a lanyard and plastic pouch to hold the ID card. It is expected that students wear their ID every day. Students have been reminded several times this year that they must do so. The ID is part of the dress code, part of our safety protocols and must be worn during school hours. If a student does not have the ID in the morning, he/she will need to rent a temporary ID from the office for $1.00. Failure to wear an ID will result in a demerit. Thank you for re-enforcing this message at home.
Back to School Forms
LAST CALL! WE STILL NEED SOME FORMS! Families are reminded to send in the Family Survey Form (light gray form), Language Survey Form (purple form) and the Nurse Forms (tan form) to the Main Office as soon as possible. These are extremely important because Berks Catholic receives federal dollars based on information provided from these important forms.
