NNPA, Transformative Justice Coalition Announce National GOTV Campaign Targeting 10 Million More Black Voters
By Stacy M. Brown
NNPA Newswire
Ahead of the all-important 2022 midterm elections, reports show that more than 55 million Americans remain unregistered to vote – and about 10 million are African Americans who are eligible to vote but who are unregistered.
Whether the reason is because of apathy, suppression, or other means, the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) and the Transformative Justice Coalition seek to get to the bottom of why, with so much at stake, voter registration and GOTV mobilization remain lacking notably among Black Americans across the nation.
During the national convention marking the 195th-anniversary celebration of the Black Press of America in New Orleans, leaders of both organizations announced a get-out-to-vote campaign aimed at registering and mobilizing GOTV for 10 million more African Americans to vote in time for the 2022 midterms.

Failure of Government Owned Networks Provide Warning For Dallas
|
By Dr. Roy E. Alston, PhD
There’s no denying that our lives have changed dramatically since the beginning of the pandemic. About 45 percent of Americans are working remotely either some or all of the time, telehealth usage is 38 times higher than it was at the beginning of 2020, and students have become increasingly reliant on learning outside of the classroom. These trends all point to one clear reality: the internet has become even more important in today’s hyper-connected world.

Dallas schools raises minimum wage, teacher pay as union members push for more
Staffers said DISD should provide raises that match
the rate of inflation.
Dallas ISD employees will earn a $15 minimum wage under the budget approved by trustees Thursday night. And, though the district will also boost teacher pay, members of the Alliance/AFT teachers union packed the board meeting to demand higher raises that would keep up with the skyrocketing cost of living in Dallas.

Backside-boosting cat food regime in Haiti is hazardous, health experts warn
|
The Haitian Times
By Murdith Joseph
PORT-AU-PRINCE — Medical professionals in Haiti are warning people of the health consequences of consuming dry cat food after rumors spread that two women died from using the feline kibble to give their backsides a boost. “The consumption of cat kibble can make you fat, because it is rich in proteins and amino acids,” said Pierre Hugues Saint Jean, president of the Pharmacist Association in Haiti, or APH. “You won’t die from it, but it can have harmful consequences on your health.”

The Path
As we walk through life's journey, we leave footprints. Some just show where we are going. Others redirect us when we get lost. Still others remain to guide those we leave behind. I see your footprints.
Will you/they see mine?
