A Message from Dr. Hilton

Dear Bradfield Families,

Students and staff enjoyed the first week back after the holidays. During professional development, the staff focused on engagement, ELAR, and math strategies to deepen and extend the students’ conceptual understanding of the standards. I also challenged our Broncos to be good stewards of our beautiful campus by being responsible, picking up trash, and caring for our shared spaces. Over the winter break, this challenge was led by two of our 2nd grade students, Brooklyn Sanchez and Lily Lawton. Thank you, Brooklyn and Lily, for your leadership and for reminding us to take care of our field, our property, and our surroundings.

January is School Board Recognition Month, and HPISD joins districts across the state of Texas in thanking its Trustees for the countless hours they voluntarily contribute every month to support our staff, students, and community.

These seven individuals are critical to the success of students. Thank you to our trustees who serve the Highland Park ISD students, staff, parents, and community. I invite you to take time this month to express gratitude to our trustees for their service. Click here to learn more about our HPISD trustees.

Attention all in-coming Kindergarten parents. ABPA and Armstrong/Bradfield Principals will be hosting a Kindergarten Readiness Meeting, Thursday, January 22nd at 9:30am at Bradfield. Click here for more information.

I hope you are having a fantastic weekend, and I will see everyone at the front door tomorrow morning.

Kindly,

Dr. Aimee Hilton

A Message from our PTA President, Kamela Aboussie

Dear Broncos,

A few friends have said to me this week of my PTA job, “You’re at the half-way mark, you’re on the downhill slope!” My response has been somewhere along the lines of “Maybe in a ‘regular’ year, but it’s the 100th year, and we’re just getting started!”

And, we are! The next five months are FILLED with both little and big celebrations as we wish Happy 100th Birthday to Bradfield. We have two special announcements in January. This month our Centennial Committee will debut the 100th Year Capsule Collection of Bradfield keepsake items. These are preordered and in limited quantities, so be on the lookout for an announcement in The Blaze in a few weeks. These are great gift ideas for both current Bradfield students and families and for alums!

In this week’s Blaze we’re introducing our Centennial Campaign, a multi-year fundraising campaign to help launch and support Bradfield into the next century. Take a look through, and feel free to reach out to me or to our development team if we can answer any questions!

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Love,

Kam

Is your child (and are you) ready for Kindergarten?
Our Armstrong and Bradfield principals will present and host a Q&A for parents of preschoolers.
Listen as they share their perspectives on how to determine if your child is prepared for Kindergarten. They will discuss what to expect from a typical day and how to register for this upcoming school year.
This program will also include a donation announcement of the money raised from the ABPA Home for the Holidays Home Tour.
