A Message from Dr. Hilton

Dear Bradfield Families,

You may have noticed different principals at school on Tuesday and Friday.  On Tuesday, Charlotte Rose, a kindergartener, was the principal of the day.  She told jokes on announcements, visited classrooms, and celebrated our teachers.  Thank you, Principal Rose, for doing a fabulous job!

Then on Friday, 4th grader, Coraline Cozzens, was the principal of the day.  From greeting students and parents, telling jokes on announcements, celebrating teachers and staff, visiting classrooms, and leaving happy notes, Principal Cozzens got it all done. Way to go, Coraline!

We also had amazing Broncos join our teachers and staff this week. It was great to see our students lead and support all of our students in numerous ways throughout the campus.

Finally, how is it that the last week of school is already here? It seems like yesterday we were anxiously awaiting the new school year to make a difference in the lives of each Bronco. I am so proud of the work our teachers, staff members, and students performed this year.

As I wrap up my second year, I am still honored to partner with the amazing staff, students, and parents at Bradfield. It is such a special place and truly like no other. I am blessed to work alongside every one of you.

I would like to say a special thank you to the following volunteers for making this year phenomenal!

PTA President, Kamela Aboussie, for leading the charge this school year. Not only did she take the lead on all our traditional Bradfield events, but she also spearheaded the BradFIELD dedication, Centennial Celebration, and the Learning Garden dedication to name a few. She has given it her all, and words are not sufficient to convey my deepest gratitude. The love, commitment, and attention to detail were evident in every event. Kamela always put our staff, students, and families first as she led the charge. She is a true advocate for the Bradfield community. No one, except maybe her family, will ever know how much time she dedicated this past year. She has definitely made an amazing mark on Bradfield that will last for decades to come. Thank you, Kam, for an incredible, memorable year, and job well done!

Bradfield Dads Club President, Jake Francis, for being such an advocate and supporter for the students and staff. No matter the request, Jake, along with a team of Dads, was there at a moment's notice to lend a helping hand. Thank you, Jake, for having such a positive attitude as you volunteered for carpool, cafeteria, and tunnel duty. Thank you, Jake!

Communication Chair, Katie Patterson, for dedicating her late nights and weekends to ensure The Blaze went out to keep our families in the know. Thank you, Katie, for your patience, as you waited on my message each week!

Bradfield Dads Club Carpool Chairs, Dayton Macatee and Jake Young, for organizing weekly shifts and encouraging Dads to help keep our precious gems safe. Rain or shine, each day our Dads showed up, with a smile on their faces to help carpool run safe and efficiently. Thank you, Dayton, Jake, and Bradfield Dads!

Bradfield PTA Exec, PTA Chairs, Bradfield Dads Club Exec, BDC Chairs, and the many parents who volunteered their time and offered their support to help us make it through a memorable year! The staff and I are forever thankful we have the opportunity to be a part of the Bradfield community!

As I wrap up, I want to wish the following Bradfield family members all the best of luck in their new adventures.

Allison Barnes, 4th-grade teacher, as she retires from education and begins a new adventure. Mrs. Barnes has influenced the lives of Broncos for twenty-two years, and she will be missed. Thank you, Allison, for your dedication, love, and encouragement you have given to our Broncos.

Katie Keffer, Kindergarten teacher, as she retires from education and moves to Houston to be near her grandchildren. Katie has also dedicated and enriched the lives of our Broncos for twenty-two years. Thank you, Katie, for your kind heart, positivity, and high standards. We will miss your steady presence and mentorship.

Leticia Parker, Spanish Teacher, as she retires from education and starts a new journey. Mrs. Parker dedicated 41 years of her life to educating children. For the last 8 years, she has enriched our Broncos with the love of the Spanish language. Thank you, Senora Parker, for your love and dedication you have given to our Broncos!

Daisy French, 4th grade teacher, as she continues her path in teaching children. Next year, she will be teaching 1st grade at The Episcopal School of Dallas. Ms. French has been a Bronco for two years, and this decision was a difficult one. She has made an enduring impact on generations of young minds, and we are thankful for the time she spent with all of our Broncos.

Caroline Gosnell, Kindergarten Teacher, has decided take a break from education and will be pursuing a new chapter outside of the classroom. Mrs. Gosnell has instilled confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning with her students, and we are grateful for her time at Bradfield. Thank you, Caroline, for your warmth and kindness that you gave to our students every day.

Yessy Flores, instructional aide, as she pursues her teaching career in Richardson ISD. She has supported numerous students and teachers over the last two years and has done so with compassion, consistency, and grace. Yessy, we wish you all the best!

Judah Seamon, instructional assistant, as he begins his work on his master’s degree at SMU. Judah supported students and teachers, and jumped in whenever he was needed. His eagerness and enthusiasm to help, learn, and teach will take him a long way in the years to come.

Thank you, all, for your dedication to the Bradfield community over the years. You have played an instrumental role in the lives of our Broncos and our staff. You will forever be in our hearts, and your laughter and positivity will permeate through these walls for years to come!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and I will see you all tomorrow morning.

Kindly,

Dr. Aimee Hilton

A Message from our PTA President, Kamela Aboussie

Dear Bradfield Families,

We are rounding the corner to the last week of school, and now Field Day Fever! is upon us! Our chairs have worked so hard this year to make sure Bradfield’s 100th Field Day feels like a modern throw back, and I’m so excited for all they have planned. Bradfield’s 50th birthday party and Field Day were celebrated on the same day back in 1976. Check out the fun photos below. And read this cute poem written by a student named Gay:

A Birthday

There’s something special about this day

About the center or middle of May.

In 1926 I hear

Bradfield was made in that special year.

But everyday there seems to be joy and love all around us.

And now today

In the center of May

Is the special birthday of cheer.

And every day

In every way

I think Bradfield is really so dear.

I agree with Gay, and I am so glad this is true for us 50 years later. Every day there seems to be joy and love all around us. I think Bradfield is really so dear.

I hope you enjoy these last five days of school and soak it ALL in!

With love,

Kam

A Message from our PTA President - Elect, Jennifer Morton

I can think of no greater SUPERSTAR than Kamela Aboussie to lead Bradfield in its historic 100th year, it was only fitting that this year’s logo was adorned with stars. Throughout life, certain people are placed for big moments, and the stars truly aligned for Bradfield to be blessed with Kamela and her extraordinary talents during this once-in-a-lifetime year. This celebrated chapter in our school’s history will be remembered for years to come, thanks to the countless hours Kam devoted, her thoughtful vision, and her impeccable attention to every detail that made each moment feel so special ALL year long. Her love for Bradfield is unwavering!

Kamela, THANK YOU, from all of us, for the time, care, and heart you poured into serving as Bradfield’s 100th PTA President. Your leadership has left a lasting mark on our school and its community. It has been such a joy to watch you shine, and even more special to see your three beautiful children witness your light for their school.

There are not enough words to fully express my admiration for all that you do and the grace with which you do it. You have given Bradfield a gift that will be felt for years to come.

Wishing all Broncos a wonderful summer. I look forward to welcoming our families back in August!
