Dear Bradfield Families,
I hope you and your family had a smooth transition back into routine after the long Labor Day weekend. Although this was a short week, it was certainly a full and productive one!
The students returned energized and ready to learn, and it’s been great to see them settling back into their rhythm. We’ve made meaningful progress this week, and we’re already looking ahead to what’s coming next.
As we move into September, here are a few reminders and updates:
- On Thursday, September 11th, Bradfield will proudly participate in Patriot Day. We will take this opportunity to honor our First Responders. Bradfield Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will play a special role as they help lead this important ceremony. Parents are welcome to participate as the students and faculty will gather around the flagpole, on the Sport Court, at 8:05 am.
- Reading Rodeo kickoff is September 17th. A Century of Stories is the theme this year. It is a great time to foster our students’ passion for reading. Please be sure to read through The Blaze for additional information about this wonderful event.
This past Friday we hosted our first staff appreciation lunch in honor of our amazing fourth-grade teachers — Mrs. Cannon, Mrs. Korn, Mrs. Barnes, and Ms. VonEnde. To celebrate our magnifique staff, we whisked them away to Paris (no passports required!) with a café-style lunch featuring fresh salads, croissant sandwiches, and decadent treat
Thanks to the generous donation from the Bame and Wallace families, Village Bakery helped transform the faculty lounge into a true French bistro — complete with sandwich flags for an authentic touch. Jane Anne Meggs (J. Blooms) designed gorgeous floral arrangements to match the Parisian theme, and each teacher took one home as a keepsake
It was such a delightful afternoon — and the best part, absolutely no jet lag! A big thank-you to Susannah Bame, Kiki Wallace, Mari Foteh, Katy Miller, Jamie Ashby, Madeleine Fidler, and Elise Riter for making it all possible.
