Due to changes our organization is currently experiencing, the Blue Heron will resume its former "occasional" status where we'll send updates as we can. You can also stay tuned to the website and our social media accounts to keep in touch with us.

All Friends Weekend Re-Cap

All Friends Reunion Weekend is our annual get-together for all who know and love Little Notch and want to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and generally enjoy all things Little Notch! A new tradition we started in 2022 was the "All Friends Trek - Race for the Golden Paddle" Teams are formed and a series of challenges are performed to receive the final clue as to where the paddle is hidden. The first team to successfully complete all challenges and decipher the final clue, runs to locate the paddle and they are crowned the Golden Paddle Champions! The entire team gets to sign the paddle for folks to see for years to come! We created this activity to engage everyone so new friends may be made. We all had so much fun and a big congratulations to our 2023 Golden Paddle Champs! Along with the Trek, we had some good old fashioned singing around the campfire and friends reconnecting at the place we all love. Looking forward to seeing everyone next year!

Women's Weekend Re-Cap

Women's Weekend 2023

Another weekend of fun, friendship and frivolity was had by all of our attendees! Heather with Paint n Gogh returned for a 3rd year, but changed it up by offering to paint glasses this year, which everyone LOVED. Our favorite forager Eva returned again to teach us about the wonderful world of edible plants, and Caity Gallagher entertained us with her beautiful mix of original music and covers.

This year we had three new workshops that were all big hits as well! Betsy from Nourish taught us the relaxing art of Mandala drawing, Chelsie from Rural Soul taught us how to drum and Aslan gave some ladies a lesson in archery!

The weather was wonderful, the food was great and so much fun was had by all. Looking forward to next year! Save the date - September 5-8 2024!

Stewardship Weekend October 6-8

What an INCREDIBLE group of Stewards we had this year. With the weather looking pretty dismal for the weekend, we were extremely worried about getting camp closed up this weekend. Our property assistant Bug had removed all the cots and bookshelves from the tents in a couple of units, and we had a few stewards head up early to finish that up as well as get the tents ready to be taken down. Friday afternoon ALL the tents were down, in under 4 and a half hours! That is a new record!! These folks worked so hard, they all stated the impending rain was quite the motivator, and got the job done! With the tents done on Friday, this freed up all the stewards to help in other areas for the rest of the weekend. By lunch on Sunday, all that was left to do was clean up the kitchen from our meal, pack up our own belongings and head out. Thank you Mike, our property manager, for having everything in order and jobs ready for folks. Thank you Zakk and Rafiki for organizing the weekend. And the biggest thank you to all of our stewards - we couldn't do this without you.

Finally, I would like to extend my gratitude to all of you. This year has been full of big changes in the organization. With change comes growth, and that is what I am looking forward to. Thank YOU all for your love and support of Camp Little Notch. ~Scotti
