2026 CRF Summer Research Fellowship
Apply now to the 2026 CRF Summer Research Fellowship to fund a research assistantship or independent research project. Receive a $6,000 stipend and take part in weekly research skills development seminars and peer-led recitations. First-years, sophomores, and juniors from all majors are invited to apply.
Priority Deadline: Monday, February 3 at 12:00p ET
Second Deadline: Monday, March 30 at 12:00p ET

BIG EAST Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium
Georgetown University will compete at the BIG EAST Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, March 14, 2026!
The CRF is looking for five student projects. Participants will compete against undergraduate presenters from all the BIG EAST schools. Undergrads with poster-ready research projects across all majors are eligible to apply. The CRF funds travel to NY, hotel costs, and some meals!

Laidlaw Undergraduate Research and Leadership Program
The CRF invites all first-years and sophomores, in any major, to learn more about this program and to consider applying for the upcoming 2026 cohort!
Laidlaw Scholars will receive full funding to conduct research; take part in leadership training; undertake a six-week long Leadership-in-Action project; and join a global Scholars Network of current scholars and program alumni.
The application deadline is 12:00 PM ET on Tuesday, February 3.

The George Washington Summer Program Advancing Research on Cancer (GW-SPARC)
GW-SPARC is a 10-week, mentored summer research experience in preparation for cancer research careers. This program is focused on mentored, cutting-edge research; contemporary cancer research techniques; and understanding the impact of cancer on DC-area communities. Participants receive a $5,000 stipend and GW campus summer housing.

2026 Summer REU in Nanotechnology
Explore the field of nanotechnology at Northwestern University (NU). Participants in the 9-week NU-REU Program will work full-time on a nanotechnology research project and receive a $6,300 stipend, round-trip airfare, a meal plan, and dormitory housing.

Alumna, Nigerian Development Advocate Wins 2026 Rhodes Scholarship
Fatima Yunusa (SFS’24), a public policy researcher, has won the 2026 Rhodes Scholarship — the world’s oldest and most competitive international scholarship.
Yunusa graduated from Georgetown University in Qatar in 2024 and now works for the US-Qatar Business Council – Doha as a programs associate. In her role, she connects with public and private sector stakeholders on issues like bilateral trade, international cooperation and economic development in developing countries.
As a Rhodes Scholar, Yunusa wants to build on her skills through public policy and public policy research graduate programs. She said she hopes to contribute to her home country’s national development. Read More
