COVID-19 Update
Vaccination News
Great news! CDC advisors voted to recommend Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. Please keep us updated by emailing a copy of your child's vaccination card to [email protected] if your 5 to 11-year-old gets vaccinated.

Symptomatic Student Protocol
A reminder that all students with cold, flu, or COVID symptoms must stay home and have a negative PCR test result sent to AOWL before returning to school. Please click here to see a list of COVID-19 symptoms. Flu shots are highly encouraged so students can stay in school as much as possible.

Reminder: Remember Your Mask!
Families, please ensure your child has a mask upon arrival to AOWL! We have extras for the occasional event that students forget, but we do not have enough to supply masks for students daily.
Your support in equipping your child with a mask from home is essential. Thank you!

Check out the COVID-19 Update section of our website for the latest information.
Please contact [email protected] for all COVID-19 questions.

Calling All Readers! We are contemplating creating an AOWL Book Club and want to gauge interest from our AOWL community. We are thinking of meeting monthly over the winter to start - January, February and March. Group members would help select which books to read and discuss.

  • If you are interested in learning more, please email Maureen at [email protected] with your name, email address and a time that would work well for you for the Book Club to meet. Thank you!
Visit the Resources Page on the AOWL website (scroll down and click the "Resources" button) to view information about events happening outside of school that may be of interest to you and your family!

Annual Fund
An anonymous donor generously gifted AOWL a $100,000 matching gift! This means each gift given to the annual fund has DOUBLE the impact.

We have raised $67,000 toward our goal of $235,000. Double your impact and help us reach our goal!

Wyayn's Words
Happy Thanksgiving

“Thanksgiving Day invites us to reflect on the blessings we enjoy and the freedoms we cherish. As we gather with family and friends, we give thanks for the extraordinary opportunities we have in a Nation of limitless possibilities. This holiday reminds us to show compassion and concern for people we have never met and deep gratitude toward those who have sacrificed to help build the most prosperous Nation on earth. These traditions honor the rich history of our country and hold us together as one American family, no matter who we are or where we come from.

The spirit of Thanksgiving is universal. It is found in small moments between strangers, reunions shared with friends and loved ones, and in quiet prayers for others. Within the heart of America's promise burns the inextinguishable belief that together we can advance our common prosperity -- that we can build a more hopeful, more just, and more unified Nation. This Thanksgiving, let us recall the values that unite our diverse country, and let us resolve to strengthen these lasting ties.”

Excerpted from President Barack Obama’s Thanksgiving proclamation, 2014.
