NATIONWIDE READING CHALLENGE!!
Gene Luen Yang, a wonderful YA author and our National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, has started a nationwide reading challenge that both the Brookline Public Library and Booksmith are promoting with everyone in Brookline.
Gene's Reading Without Walls Challenge
1.  Read a book about someone that doesn't look like you or live like you.
2.  Read a book about a topic that you don't know much about.
3.  Read a book in a format that you don't usually read for fun.

The Bookline Public Library will reward students for completing any one of these three reading challenges with a badge. They will also create a display of books that the students in Brookline have read. We will be creating a display here at Pierce as well. On April 6, 2017 Gene Luen Yang will be visiting Brookline, so let's see how many books without walls we can read before his visit! For more information, visit http://geneyang.com/the-reading-without-walls-challenge.
Happy Reading!
