The Great Taste of Ontario campaign is designed to inspire you to explore the food and drink experiences found in our area. The Culinary Tourism Alliance is putting together a series of itineraries to inspire hyper-local travel and have the opportunity to curate a digital passport as part of a greater provincial campaign to motivate people to linger longer.

We are looking for restaurants, wineries, craft breweries, gourmet ice cream shops, local coffee shops, cooking schools, etc that can offer a culinary experience to be part of this program. You’ll be featured on a digital passport and in content encouraging travel across the province which will be published on Ontarioculinary.com as well as our sites.

Aimed squarely at the tourism and hospitality sector, the Propel Student Work Placement Program is helping the hardest-hit sector recover from the devastating impacts of the pandemic

Funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program, Propel offers post-secondary students opportunities to develop the work-ready skills required to secure meaningful employment upon graduation.

Qualifying employers are provided with a wage subsidy of each qualifying student hired through the program.

May 15th Deadline for Tourism Relief Funding

On April 6, it was announced that the Tourism Partnership of Niagara (Niagara Tourism) received a non-repayable contribution of $8.5 million from the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), to deliver the Tourism Relief Fund to tourism businesses in Niagara-On-The-Lake, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, Port Colborne and Grimsby.

Support is available for small businesses in the tourism sector to recover from the impacts of the pandemic and seize new market opportunities through enhanced, or new products and services.

Through Niagara Tourism, small businesses in the Niagara region can apply for non-repayable contributions of up to $100,000 for up to 50% of eligible project costs, and not-for-profit organizations can apply for non-repayable contributions of up to $100,000 for 100% of eligible costs.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm, May 15th, 2022
