NEW EVENT: Wrightwood 659 Private Tour
Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 5:30PM

Experience one of Chicago’s Lost Theatres

You are invited to experience Romanticism to Ruin: Two Lost Works of Sullivan and Wright, currently on view at Wrightwood 659. Our friends at Wrightwood 659 will be hosting us for an exclusive tour of this sold-out exhibit.

The second and third floors of the museum are dedicated to Reconstructing the Garrick: Adler and Sullivan’s Lost Masterpiece, which explores Chicago’s Garrick Theatre Building, which stood for only sixty-nine years, yet continues to resonate, far outlasting its’ physical presence.

Guests will have an opportunity to join a VIP tour of the exhibit with Co-curator and Chicago cultural historian emeritus Tim Samuelson. The event will culminate in a reception and refreshments in the museum’s stunning first floor atrium designed by Pritzker prize-winning architect Tadao Ando.

In-Person Event for Members of the Chicago Theatre Community

Join fellow League Members for a casual conversation with Alderman Andre Vasquez from the 40th Ward. Andre will talk with us about how to create meaningful partnerships with your Alderman and City Council. Now in his third year on City Council, Alderman Vasquez will share with us his ideas on how arts organizations in Chicago can advocate for space, funding, and support at the various levels of city government and we can share with him our insights into how he can expand access to the arts for his constituents.

The League will provide a round of refreshments, chips, salsa, & guacamole for attendees. After the discussion, we are welcome to stick around at our tables and order food and drink from the kitchen.

Utilize the Opening Night Calendar
Are your 2021/2022 press openings listed on the League's Opening Night Calendar? As theatres start to reopen, we'd like to remind everyone to make sure you check it before setting your press openings. It is beneficial to everyone in the industry for you to have accurate show information in the calendar. If your theatre has an upcoming press opening that is not currently on the Opening Night Calendar, please submit your information to kara@chicagoplays.com.
Cooperative Advertising Program
The League of Chicago Theatres’ Cooperative Advertising Program offers League members the lowest rates for advertising with various media partners across Chicago and the suburbs, including out-of home, digital, print, TV, and radio. We simplify the ad order process by taking care of your ad orders, artwork/copy submissions, and payment.
The Cooperative Advertising Program media partners recognize the hardships theatres are facing and are willing to do what they can to work with you within whatever budget you may have to promote your virtual or live performances, galas, classes, podcasts, subscriptions, and any other programming you may be offering. Many are offering special discounts and opportunities during this time.
More co-op information can be found on our website here. Please email advertising@chicagoplays.com for the password to the page and for any cooperative advertising orders or questions.
