What Fragrance Do You Have On?
Don’t we like it when people notice and like the cologne or perfume we put on for the day? And doesn’t it bother us a little, when they don’t like the smell of our cologne or perfume? To some, it may be too strong; for others too light.  It all comes down to one’s personal preference and sense of smell.
There are some smells we all can agree on. For example, the smell of a newborn will always smell good and the smell of a dead corpse left unattended for some time will always smell bad.  The two have very distinct odors; one that is pleasant; the other repulsive and offensive.
When it comes to Christians, the apostle Paul writes, In 2 Corinthians 2: 15 -16, that “Christians are the fragrance of Christ to God to those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life.”
Christians who imitate the life of Christ will always smell like a “newborn” to those being saved. Their presence is a pleasant reminder of what is good and innocent in life, because they practice “…being blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom they shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life…” (Phil. 2: 14-16)
But to a nonbeliever, the presence of a Christian is going to be an “offensive” odor, an odor of death, because nonbelievers reject and deny the Christian’s testimony with regard to the gospel being the good news (the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for our sins). And their faith in the Lord’s power to save those who trust and obey Him.
Since we are the aroma of Christ, every day we are to walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, we too are to be an offering and sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” (Eph. 5: 2)
And so, the next time someone asks you what is the fragrance that you are wearing, because it smells really nice, tell them it’s called; Jesus! And it comes in: love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, hope, and sacrifice!

Latest on COVID-19
COVID-19: It's Not Over Yet - As COVID-19 numbers continue to surge, please exercise vigilance in observing recommended safety protocols, e.g., wash your hands frequently, wear a mask whenever you are around people who are not part of your immediate household, in both public and private settings, do not travel unless absolutely necessary, keep your distance, and self-quarantine for the recommended amount of time if you contract or are exposed to COVID-19. Although there is light at the end of the tunnel with the roll out of multiple vaccines, for now, the pandemic rages on, and it is not time to relax our vigilance in limiting its spread.
