If God Were in the Picture
“If God were in the picture (of everyone’s life) we would not be seeing the pictures we are seeing today on the nightly news, Facebook, Instagram, and the like.  Pictures of violence, human intolerance, racism, hatred, bigotry, frustration, anger, pain, shock and outrage.  An unprecedented time to say the least, of societal disease, darkness, despair and division.

If God were in the picture, we would not see the rotten fruit of the flesh showing its ugliness - immorality, strife, jealousy, outbursts, and dissension, but instead the sweet fruit of the spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self -control.

If God were truly in the picture things would be a lot different.  The whole world would be different. There would be more “Good Samaritans.” There would be more hope and less hurt and hate.  There would be more love and less lies. There would be more building up of lives instead of breaking them down and tearing them apart. There would be more encouragement and less discouragement.  There would be more faith and less fear.  There would be more appreciation for our differences than depreciation. There would be more focus on the inner man.

If God were in the picture, praying in public would not be offensive, the Bible would not be silenced, truth would not be persecuted, Christ would not be mocked, and faith would not be viewed as a farce.

If God were in the picture, the picture we see today would not be the picture we see tomorrow.  Where there is darkness there would be light, where there is unrest there would be peace, where there is confusion there would be order.  Sin would not win, lies would die, and souls would be saved. Life would be better, beautiful and blessed!

Let us let love have its way so hate will decay and never again be allowed to rule the day.  I would like to leave you with this quote: “Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.”  (author unknown)

If only God were in the picture of everybody’s life, the world would certainly be a place where the souls of all men could live in harmony, humility and hope !"
