“Let The Beauty of Jesus Be Seen” (Part 1 of 4)
Isaiah 53:1-12, By Kevin Cauley
| |
Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me by my…
I. PURE LIFE
1. Jesus lived a pure life.
a. Hebrews 4:15 “For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
b. 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
c. Never was there more pure a life lived than that of Jesus.
2. We so ought to live as well.
a. If we desire Jesus blessing: Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”
b. To be an example to those around us: 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
c. If we want to see heaven: 1 John 3:3 “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
3. To be pure we must abstain from impure things.
a. WHY? 1 Corinthians 3:16 states, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
b. Acts 15:20 “But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.”
c. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:”
d. 1 Peter 2:11 “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;”

Roxbury Christian Academy
The Church of Christ in Roxbury is in the process procuring a facility to open the Roxbury Christian Academy, a new Church of Christ elementary school in Boston, MA. Our plan is to begin operation in September 2025 and we solicit your prayers in this undertaking
Our Challenge and Request
We are in the process of securing the financing for the school and your pledges and donations will help greatly in that process. We have a signed Purchase & Sales agreement with the seller and are working with lenders. Several of these have declined and those remaining are very interested in the financial support we can gather and anticipate for this effort. It is a very large undertaking for a congregation of our size.
We invite/encourage you to make pledges toward the school for donations to be completed later in the year – please complete the linked pledge form – or to make immediate donations using this donate link, which is exclusively for this effort.
Note: If we are ultimately unable to complete the current process, we will refund your donations. We are committed to opening a Christian school in Boston and will redirect our efforts to other methods and facilities for opening a school if the current effort cannot be completed.

The congregation is requesting member support of its Mission Fund as we provide an educational stipend to Bro. Phillip Morrison while he attends Sunset International Bible Institute full time for the next 18 months to train as a minister. We are asking members to commit/pledge at whatever amount your heart and ability can provide for this period of time. This is a commitment over and above your regular giving and we hope all members will participate to the level of their ability and heart for God. Our target is to provide $3,000 per month and all commitments, whether large or small, are helpful and appreciated.
Please make checks and money orders payable to Church of Christ in Roxbury and write Mission Fund in the memo line.
Electronic donations may be made via the E-Giving option at ChurchofChristinRoxbury.org/e-giving. Specify Mission Fund in the comments section.
Click here to complete the pledge form electronically.
