Sin's Deadly Consequence
We often hear about  “The seven deadly sins.” The seven deadly sins are categorized (in no specific order) as: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, pride and envy.” It is true, that all of these are talked about in the Bible and considered as sinful behavior. But let’s be clear about one thing, and that is, sin is sin. Sin is anything or anyone who is transgressing (rebelling) against God’s word, God’s will and God’s way.  (1 John 3:4)

The scriptures also note “ALL HAVE SINNED and fallen short of the glory of God.” (Rom. 3: 23) But thanks be to God, we don’t have to stay in a sinful state or die with the sinner’s fate (eternal damnation). If we do, we choose to do so. “For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes (trusts and obeys) in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

There is no “big” or “little” sin. The first sin
committed by Adam and Eve was the sin of disobedience. Their sinful DISOBEDIENCE, towards God brought on the consequence of death. (Genesis 3: 14 - 19, Rom. 6: 23)

Thus, death became a part of life. Although this sounds oxymoronic, “death being a part of life,” it doesn’t lessen its truth!  The scriptures tell us, in the beginning God created life, then man committed sin, which in turn gave “birth” to death, which became a part of life.

Sin is deadly and painful! It hurts the ones we love! It afflicts our bodies. It does damage to our spirits and our souls. There was a time when man’s sin and wickedness had gotten so bad, God was about to destroy all of mankind because of the grief and great sorrow it had caused Him.  (Genesis 6: 5-7).

It is for these reasons and many others that sin is never to be taken lightly, played with or tolerated. It is deadly and toxic to the human soul and spirit. If you fail to see it as such, you will reap the “unsweetened fruit” from its tree: eternal separation from God. A separation from His grace, goodness and glory.  As a result, that is what becomes sin’s deadliest consequence: separation from God. (Isaiah 59:2)

Latest News from Mass.gov
In response to the recent uptick in the number of confirmed corona virus cases in Massachusetts, Governor Charlie Baker has issued a Third Revised Order Regulating Gatherings Throughout the Commonwealth (COVID-19 Order 46). The order, which took effect on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, limits outdoor gatherings to 50 people, and indoor gatherings to 25 people in a single enclosed space. The order also mandates social distancing of at least 6 feet between people not residing in the same household, and the use of facial coverings in public spaces. Please assist us in our efforts to comply with this order by following the protocols we have established for in-person participation in our Sunday on-site worship service.

To stay informed and receive important updates regarding the Commonwealth's COVID-19 response, text COVIDMA to 888-777.

Reopen 2
Our church building is open for worship Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m.

Those who plan to attend the service in person must complete and submit an online attendance form by Friday of each week. The medical questions on the form are optional, but if you can answer yes to any of them, we ask that you refrain from attending worship in person out of consideration for the health and well-being of others. A link to the form is included below, and is texted each week to all members who have signed up to receive text alerts. If you are unable to complete the form online, please text or call Sis. Wendy Craigwell at 617-980-7830.

We will continue to live-stream the worship service at 11 a.m. each Sunday for those unable to attend in person (link below).

For those attending in person, remember that face masks are required (no vented masks allowed), and social distancing protocols will be followed. If you plan to attend in person, please also remember to bring your communion cups, which were distributed earlier this month.
