WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Recruiting Sign and Card
We’ve added over 65 new team members to the Huseman Group since the beginning of the year. We are on pace to have our largest recruiting year in the history of the Huseman Group which is great because there is plenty of work and with growth comes more teams, more people and more opportunity for promotions.

We need your help: Pick up a yard sign from the Armory or Marketing area to place in your yard, on job sites or around town to promote Huseman Group's employment opportunities to your friends, neighbors and the community! Also, we encourage everyone to distribute the recruitment cards to anyone who may be a candidate for employment with the Huseman Group. Make sure to write your name on the card for the referral bonus if that person gets hired!

Remember: it's okay if the person you refer doesn’t work out, or isn’t hired. Focus on referring your next friend, neighbor, or family member and increase your chance to win the Referral Pool Year-End Bonus!

Thanks to all the hiring managers, field leaders, and people who have come together to interview, hire, and train new people as we push the Huseman Group forward.
APPRAISAL TIME
With inflation occurring at such a rapid pace over the last year, Huseman Group is adding a little bit of a twist to the appraisal cycle this go round. In addition to the regular merit increase that is awarded, there is an additional 4% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) being provided.

This applies to all employees except those that had an increase in their auto allowance or received a new gas card in March of this year. The idea behind those increases were to pay-it-forward in advance of this appraisal period. If in the event you did receive an increase in the auto allowance or a gas card in March, the percent of salary that increase accounted for is subtracted from the 4% COLA and then the balance is awarded this appraisal cycle as well. When you sit down with your supervisor, to discuss the appraisal, they will go over your raise and COLA allowance if it wasn’t awarded earlier in the year.

If you were hired after March 15th, COLA allowances were already included in your increased offer of employment and you are not eligible for the 4% COLA because it was already incorporated into the new range.

  • Example 1: If someone received an auto allowance of $500.00/month or $6,000.00/year and they made $85,000/year, the % increase was 7% so there is no COLA available because 7% is greater than the 4% COLA award.

  • Example 2: If someone received an increase in the auto allowance of $200.00/month or $2,400/year, and they made $85,000/year the % increase of the auto allowance was 2.8% of their salary so they are eligible for, 4% - 2.8% = 1.2% COLA award.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask Human Resources or your supervisors.
GOOD VIBES
officevibe
As mentioned a few weeks ago in an email, Huseman Group is launching an employee feedback loop called Office Vibe. Once a week, every person in the Huseman Group is going to receive an email from Office Vibe with five survey questions (it should take 1-2 minutes). The intent of the questions is to understand the needs of people and what the Huseman Group can do to make work life more enjoyable and fulfilling.

The survey is anonymous unless you choose to share your identity. If questions are asked or points of clarity are sought in the survey responses, your executive manager will review and respond to questions, therefore closing the loop. The cumulative results will also be shared with leaders so positive change can be made if necessary.
NEW MILWAUKEE TOOL PROGRAM
Milwaukee Tools logo
We are excited to announce the launch of our NEW partnership with Milwaukee Tools. If you have any Hilti Tools to turn in or will be receiving new Milwaukee Tools, an email from Len will be coming to let you know they are ready. For any Huseman Group assigned tools that are in disrepair and in need of replacement, please bring them to the Armory to be sent to Milwaukee Tools. A replacement of the Huseman Group assigned tool will be provided to you at this time. For personal tools, new Milwaukee Tools may be purchased using Huseman Group discounts. For Warranty repairs on personal tools, visit the  Milwaukee Tool Rental Program form for details. During the Warranty repair process for personal tools, there will be no replacement given by the Armory during this time.

Reminder that the Annual Tool Inspection will typically occur during the month of December. Tools will be inspected for wear and tear as well as an inventory check. Tools that are lost will be re-issued, and those in need of repair or updated will be replaced. A $250 Milwaukee Tool credit will be given to you for purchase of anything Milwaukee if all tools are present and not missing for the year, AND Out of Warranty/Replacement costs for the year is no more than 20% of total cost of tools issued.

COMPLACENCY IN THE WORKPLACE
Complacency in the workplace is when you become so secure in your work that you take potentially dangerous shortcuts in your tasks, don't perform to the same quality as you once did or become unaware of deficiencies. It's important to remain vigilant and very aware of workplace hazards. A few signs of complacency at work are disengagement, shortcuts, frequent mistakes, neglecting tasks and showing carelessness.

Tips for changing complacent behavior:
  • Stay alert and be aware of your surroundings at all times
  • Before starting a task, think about potential hazards and how to protect yourself
  • Always pay full attention to the task at hand
  • Report unsafe conditions and near misses to your supervisor
  • Watch out for the safety of your coworkers
  • Don't take shortcuts that would compromise safety
