Biology Students Study 
Germination & Growth of Radish Seeds
Mrs. McIntosh's Biology students are working on an Inquiry Lab for their Ecology Unit.  They are testing a variety of different factors that could have an adverse effect on the germination and growth of radish seeds.  They will collect data on their plants until Thanksgiving break and communicate their data to the rest of the class after analyzing their results.  In the photos above you will see students researching, setting up their planters, and documenting results with images.

Parents of MPHS Students

Please complete the 24 question survey in the link provided below using a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. The data from this survey will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating found in the College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI). 

Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey.

FBLA News 

FBLA is selling Heritage candles to help fund costs for Region and State Competitions through  Nov 28th . Please see an FBLA member to place your order for these quality, long-lasting candles that come in a variety of scents. Stop by Mrs. Little's room to smell some of the scents. They make GREAT Christmas gifts! Teachers don't forget about ChaMPmas gifts as well.

FBLA is collecting NEW adult sized and child sized socks as a community service project through  Nov. 15th .  We will deliver these to Ms. Byrd for distribution to students in within our school district. Drop socks off to Mrs. Myers in room 226 or Mrs. Little in room 227.  Thank you for supporting our students.

FBLA is selling ice cream sandwiches for $1.00 after school on Thursdays in Mrs. Myers room 226.

FFA News 

The Mary Persons Senior FFA Land Judging Team recently won the State Senior Division FFA Land Judging Career Development Event.  The event was held at J. Field Campbell Research Center in Watkinsville on Saturday, November 6th.   Team members Noah Thompson, Deyana Stokes, Ethan Lord, and Anna Grace Simmons became eligible to compete at the state event after winning the Area 3 Land Judging Career Development Event on Thursday, September 27th at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley.  The team now advances to state competition in Oklahoma.

The Monroe County Middle FFA Land Judging Team recently won the State Junior Division FFA Land Judging Career Development Event with the Mary Persons Junior FFA Land Judging Team coming in second. The event was also held at J. Fields Campbell Research Center in Watkinsville on Saturday, November 6th.

Team members for Monroe County Middle, Drew Grant, Nate Lawson, Jackson Walker, and Joshua Millwood, became eligible to compete at the state event after winning the Area 3 Junior Division Land Judging Career Development Event with the members of the Mary Persons Junior FFA Land Judging Team, Dravin Bennett, Jacob McGouirk, Bernard Penamon, and Lontravious Walker, coming in second on Thursday, September 27th at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley.

The Land Judging Career Development Event provides students the opportunity to determine land classification, use and treatment practices for selected sites.  The students must consider topsoil texture and thickness, effective depth, permeability of subsoil, slope, erosion, drainage' and land capability.

Bulldogs Advance to AAAA State Playoffs:
MP to Host Woodward Academy Friday Night in the Pitt

MP defeated Richmond Academy 59-0 to advance in the AAAA playoffs. 
The Bulldogs now have a 11-0 record for the season. MP will host 
Woodward Academy  this Friday  in the Pitt!
