Year-Long Athletic Pass Winners
Congratulations to Audrey Grier and Bailey Niblett. 
These two lucky winners of a Year-Long Athletic Pass were chosen by 
a drawing from all eligible students. To be eligible, students must have 
had zero referrals, & zero absences for the 2nd nine weeks.
EMR Class Obtains CPR Certification

This past week, Ms. Carter's EMR class obtained their CPR certification. Monroe County's finest EMS workers volunteered their time & shared their expertise to help the students master their CPR technique. They also brought the "LUCAS" device which is an automatic chest compression machine. Students were able to learn the ins and outs of how it works. 
Healthcare Students Experiment 
with Fluorescent Glow Powder

Ms. Carter's Intro to Healthcare class experimented with 
fluorescent glow powder that simulated how easily germs spread. 
They also learned the proper technique for hand washing, 
which is the first line of defense in breaking the chain of infection!
AP Biology Students Make Bacteria GLOW!

Students in Mrs. Griffin's AP Biology class studying molecular 
biology  genetically engineered bacteria to glow under UV light by 
inserting a "glowing" gene from jellyfish into the bacteria. 
Attention Parents of MPHS Students

Please complete the 24 question survey in the link provided below using a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. The data from this survey will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating found in the College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI). 

Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Edu cation for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey.

AP Exams

Students can start making payments for their AP exams beginning December 14. 
The cost of each exam is $95. The fee schedule:

This will allow student to make 4 low payments of $23.75. All exams can be paid with cash or checks. Please make checks payable to

Students Participate in District Honor Choir
20 MP students participated in District Honor Choir. 

Sunny DeVane was 1 of the 100 students selected by audition 
throughout the state to be in GMEA's most prestigious chorus, 
the All-State Reading Chorus for her second year.

MP Betas members attended the State Beta Convention 
in Savannah last week. Those attending were Mollee Ayers, 
Autumn Grier, Cayton Sink, Alivia Stewart, TJ Terrell, and Sam Wu. 
Mrs. English, Beta Club Sponsor, accompanied the students to Savannah.
