Alternate Learning Days

Monroe County Schools Board of Education, administration,
and staff believe continuity of instruction in the event of the loss of
an instructional day, due to weather or other circumstances, is a critical component to our students' success. Therefore, our schools will provide the opportunity for students to continue to engage in learning on days when
school is called off. Students will engage in Alternative Learning Days through reading traditional books, traditional "at home" paper-based assignments, and through use of personal devices, Google Classroom, email, and other electronic and digital media to ensure uninterrupted instruction. Please click on the links below for more information on alternative learning days.

Anatomy & Physiology Students
Study Skin Layers and Body Systems
Anatomy and Physiology students learned about the layers of the skin and about specific types of strata that are affected when we bleed. This opportunity encouraged them to educate their teachers and peers about the layers of their epidermis and what type of wound they imitated using anatomical terminology. Click Here to view more pictures.

Junior and Senior Anatomy and Physiology students put on a successful Body Systems Exhibition to show their expertise and educate other students about the main organs and the physiology of the system.
Biology Classes Investigate Stomach Contents
Mrs. McIntosh's Biology Classes spent two days conducting an investigation to determine the victim of poisoning by analyzing the contents of his/her stomach to determine the last restaurant that he/she ate.  They performed multiple macromolecules tests to determine what foods had carbs, lipids, and proteins to make determine their main suspect.
