MP Places 2nd in One Act Competition 
Congratulations to the cast and crew of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" for placing 
2nd in the Region 2-AAAA One Act Competition. Congratulations also to Sunny DeVane who was awarded Best Actress Award, Stephanie Nix who was awarded Best Supporting Actress, and Haley Thompson, James Wright, and Liam Spence who were named among the Region's All-Star Cast.

Access Department Awarded Grant
The Central Georgia EMC Foundation Board recently awarded $744.99 to the Access Department. These funds will be used to purchase additive technology devices and applications that will allow students who have physical impairments greater access to the curriculum. The Access Department extends sincere gratitude to the foundation board for their generous support!

Fine Arts News
Art News

The October student artist of the month is Laurel Sparks.  Laurel is a senior AP Studio Art student, and is currently working on her portfolio for submission to the College Board in the spring.  She is also treasurer of the Art Club.  

Laurel's work shows strong artistic voice.  She takes risks with her art and experiments with a variety of media including collage, digital, printmaking, and paint pouring.

Academic Team News 

The MP Academic Team recently competed at the GATA Fall South tournament at Mary Persons. The Varsity team placed 7th out of 14 teams, falling in the first round of the playoffs. The JV team also finished 7th in their division. Our next tournament is Saturday, November 17, at Brookwood High School. Members that competed included Katherine Samuelson, Henri Marlow, Kanaya Starling, Bailey Storey, Audrey Parrott, Savannah Martin, Maci Joiner, Baxter Berlin, Hunter Buice, and Caleb Johnson.

Cross Country News

Cross Country Teams  Are Region Champs!!!

The Bulldogs had a close race but finished strong.  Justin Wachtel is the 2018 Region Champ.  Logan O'Neill qualified for State individually with a 3rd place finish.  Also qualifying to compete at the 4A State Championships is Alec Remick, Connor Battles, Holden Haworth, Westin Dunwody, and Alex Hanson. 

The Lady Dogs dominated the girls race.  Four of the Lady Dogs placed in the Region's top 10 runners.  Ava McKallip finished 3rd, Maradeth Leverett finished 4th, Caroline Hampton finished 5th, and Sarah Boyer finished 7th.  Also qualifying to compete at the State championships is Jackie Gore, Christina Medlin, and Stormie Martin.  

The Cross Country team will compete at the State Championships next  Saturday, November 2nd in Carrollton, GA.  Go Dogs!

The Bulldogs defeated the Perry Panthers 40-3 on Homecoming night. The Bulldogs are now 9-0.
