The Bulldogs are back, and September is already off to an exciting start! 🐾

We’re kicking off the school year with some fun opportunities to connect, celebrate, and experience what makes the Sanborn community so special. We had a blast at last week's Open House and hope that you stopped by our PTO table to say hi!

This Thursday, 9/24, we're excited to host the 🎉 Welcome Back Sock Hop 🎉 here at Sanborn. We'd love some volunteers to help make this night a success. We're excited to have another opportunity to meet up with old friends, make new ones, and jump right into the Bulldog spirit!

Read on for all the details—we can’t wait to see you there!

DID YOU KNOW?

It's almost time to register for Explorations!

Fall Explorations registration opens Wednesday, September 23rd at 8:30pm with classes starting Monday, October 5!

What is Explorations? Explorations is Sanborn’s before and after-school enrichment program, offered each Fall, Winter, and Spring. It’s a fun way for students to try something new, explore burgeoning interests, and spend time with classmates outside the school day!

Classes meet at Sanborn once a week for about 6 weeks, with morning sessions from 8:00–8:45am and afternoon sessions from 3:45–4:30pm. Each session offers a fun mix of classes by grade level, with options ranging from chess, LEGO, cheer, and art to sewing, dodgeball, nature club, and more.

Classes can be found here. Be on the lookout for a registration link in the coming weeks! Waitlists will be available for classes that fill up.

Questions? Please reach out to the PTO at pto@sanbornpto.net. Financial assistance is available; please contact Carolyn Fawcett or Jenn Cann at jennifer.cann@andoverma.us for details.

A place for updates about the Sanborn & Greater Andover Community

From the Colleen E. Ritzer Memorial Fund:

Colleen’s positivity and kindness was contagious and well-known by everyone in her life. A few years ago, a good friend of Colleen’s started Kindness for Colleen – a campaign encouraging everyone to perform random acts of kindness in Colleen’s honor on October 22. These efforts include everything and anything from holding the door for someone to buying someone’s coffee, thanking all those who support you, teaching lessons of kindness in the classroom or simply just sharing a smile.

We ask that you join us in this effort and share this with all those you know to allow Colleen’s legacy to continue to spread and impact students everywhere.

You can share your acts of kindness on social media using #Kindness4Colleen. You can find out more about Kindness for Colleen here.

There will also be another opportunity to spread kindness in memory of Colleen Ritzer by donating blood to pediatric patients receiving treatment at Boston Children’s Hospital. We are hosting their Bloodmobile at St. Augustine Church (43 Essex Street, Andover, MA) on Friday, October 23, 2026. Find out more information about this important event here.

Mark Your Calendar!

There's lots to look forward to and there's a lot to keep track of. But don't worry, we've got you covered!

We put together a handy calendar on our website for everything going on at Sanborn. We update it regularly so you will always have the most accurate info.
