Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your family during this fall semester. We want to start out our November newsletter with a huge celebration that you took part in. We had the highest student attendance rate for the first nine-weeks of school than we have had in the last three years! Congratulations! Thank you for helping us meet our attendance goals. Second Nine-Weeks: What to know about monitoring your students grades

As we proceed into the second nine weeks of the school year, please keep the following information in mind as you monitor your students' grades.

  • 2023-24 Grading Guidelines for parents
  • How many grades should my child have each nine-weeks? Pg. 12-14
  • How soon should my child expect their work graded and handed back to them?  Pg. 8
  • Should I be notified if my child is failing a course (Progress Report)? Pg. 5
  • Can my student redo or retake an assignment or test? Pg. 8
  • How can I set up notifications to provide me alerts on my child’s progress in a class or attendance? Watch the following video tutorial.

Notice: the last day of school for the fall semester is Wednesday, Dec. 20. Please see early dismissal times below:

Thanksgiving

As a reminder, there will be no school next week, Nov. 20-24 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We are thankful for the opportunity you provide us each day to partner with you in growing students in Bridgeport ISD!

FFA Students Excel at Texas High School Welding Series Event

FFA students traveled to Red Oak TSTC and competed in the Texas High School Welding Series event. Each student came home with a $500 Lincoln Tech Tuition Scholarship and a $500 Ocean Corporation Tuition Scholarship! Congratulations to these hardworking students. Awesome job!

Community Partners Host Lunch for BMS Staff

Huge thanks to Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, Wise County for hosting an awesome lunch for our Bridgeport Middle School staff!

Advanced Academics Students Continue to Excel in the Classroom

BES/BIS LINC students were tasked with creating a pumpkin picker! This STEM activity stretched students' thinking! The students thought it was interesting to observe all of the different creations and to reflect on how those creations could be improved!

SAT Test Prep Lessons Challenge for All Juniors

Attention Juniors! Want the chance to win a $20 Amazon or Starbucks gift card? Make sure you are working on your self-paced SAT Test Prep lessons during WIN time, as well as at home, and you will be eligible for these prizes! The WIN class with the most hours logged will receive a pizza party! Continue to log those hours…winners will be determined on March 1!

BMS Students Take a Trip to Bridgeport Heritage Museum

Bridgeport Middle School LINC Elective students recently participated in a field trip to the Bridgeport Heritage Museum! The field trip was a part of their current unit of study entitled "150 Years of Bridgeport/Looking at the Past with the Eyes of the Future."

Bridgeport High School Students Compete at Texas Association of Future Educators Event

We are so proud of our students who represented BHS and BISD well at the recent Texas Association of Future Educators competition at Tarleton University!

Bridgeport ISD Inclement Weather Procedures

As we approach the winter months, please make yourself aware of our inclement weather procedures and BISD’s process for making school closing announcements!


In the event of inclement weather, the superintendent may close or delay the start of school. Parents and students should visit the district's website, bridgeportisd.net, for current and accurate weather-related postings. In addition, you can expect an email from the district or your campus principal. Information will also be posted on the district's official social media pages and disseminated to local radio and television stations, including WBAP 820 AM, KRLD AM, KDFW Channel 4, KXAS Channel 5, WFAA Channel 8, and KTVT Channel 11.
