Drawing on the gifts of all God's people to
serve Christ together and live Jesus' Way of Love.
The Gift of Latino Ministry
One of the great gifts of the Diocese of Washington is the vibrancy of our Latino congregations. This week, we invite you to learn more about its rich history, spirit-filled present, and exciting future. And as Election Day approaches, we’ve included some information about ways you can serve and pray for our nation. Last, as we look ahead to our 2021 diocesan convention, you’ll find an announcement about our special guest speaker.
Latino Ministry: Past, Present, and Future
Latino Ministry in our Diocese has a long history and today accounts for some of our fastest growing faith communities.

Latino Ministry is Bearing Good Fruit / El Ministerio Latino está dando frutos - The Rev. Sarabeth Goodwin, Latino Missioner
Latino Ministry in EDOW: The Future and Opportunities / Ministerio Latino en EDOW: futuro y oportunidades - The Rev. Yoimel González Hernández, Dean of the Latino Deacons School, and Mildred Reyes

In Solidarity with Immigrants and Refugees
The COVID-19 pandemic has opened our minds, eyes, and hearts to the systemic inequities deeply rooted in our country. Through prayer and action, the Sanctuary Ministry of Washington National Cathedral supports immigrants and refugees, whose lives are threatened and upended because of their migration status.

A Call to Election Day Prayer and Witness
Last week, Bishop Mariann invited all who are able and would like to make a public witness to take part in an EDOW effort to be a prayerful presence at polling stations within our diocesan bounds. Learn more about the initiative

This will be especially useful to those who wish to participate in the Diocesan Call to Election Day Prayer and Witness. Learn more and register

Diocesan Convention
Convention will take place online on Saturday, January 30, 2021. We will share details about agenda, registration, and other logistics as we move deeper into the fall.

HOLD THE DATE: An Evening with Bishop Eugene Sutton, Friday, January 29, 2021. Bishop Sutton will speak about the Diocese of Maryland’s multi-year investigation of the legacy of slavery and racial inequity in church and society. That process culminated in a diocesan resolution passed at their convention this year to establish a Reparations Fund. Come learn about the Diocese of Maryland’s experience as we live into our strategic goal to bravely uncover, understand, reckon with and act to dismantle racism within ourselves, our faith communities, the Diocese and our localities.
