2022 BOARD COMPOSITION ANNOUNCED

The Press Club nominating committee has announced the following slate of nominees to serve as officers on the club’s executive committee in 2022:
·       Denise Polverine, Director of Digital, WKYC-TV; as president
·       Elizabeth McIntyre, Executive Editor, Crain’s Cleveland Business; as 1st vice president
·       Mary Lou Brink, Senior Director of Content, Falls & Co.; as 2nd vice president
·       Shannon Mortland, Vice President of Regional Media Relations, PNC Bank; as secretary
·       Carol Kovach, Editor, Northeast Ohio Catholic magazine; as treasurer
·       Kevin Adelstein, President and CEO, Cleveland Jewish Publication Co.; as assistant treasurer
The following have been nominated for election to a two-year term on the club’s board of directors:

The election of officers and board members will be held at the Press Club’s Holiday Party & Annual Meeting on Dec. 1. 
The Press Club board consists of 19 members, with at least 10 working journalists.
NOMINATION DEADLINE NOVEMBER 30 
 
The Press Club of Cleveland is planning to present the next Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame induction and Chuck Heaton Award presentation on March 3, 2022. Venue details are being finalized and will be announced soon.

Nominations will be accepted until Nov. 30 for the next Journalism Hall of Fame class and candidates for the Chuck Heaton Award. 
Press Club members should submit nominations by email to pressclubcle@gmail.com. Please indicate Hall of Fame or Heaton Award in the subject line. Also, include the nominee’s name, email address, phone number, the media outlet the person is/was affiliated with and a brief description of why he or she should be considered for the Hall of Fame or Heaton Award. In addition, nominators should include their name, email address and phone number.

EMPLOYMENT SEEKERS

Cleveland Jewish News

The Cleveland Jewish News is seeking candidates for the Clifford and Linda Wolf Editorial Internship. The paid internship will be for between 25-30 hours per week for 10 weeks in either the spring or fall.

Interns will gain on-the-ground journalism experience in the fast-paced, professional newsroom environment of the CJN, which has been named the best community weekly in Ohio four of the last five years, including 2020. Interns will be involved in all facets of the news gathering process including but not limited to assisting reporters with research, verification, securing and speaking with sources, proofreading, copy editing, etc. Editorial interns will have an opportunity to pitch and write stories for all CJN platforms and publications, including all digital, social and magazine properties as well as the Columbus Jewish News, our sister publication.

Clifford and Linda Wolf Editorial interns will learn about all facets of the Cleveland Jewish community, gaining new appreciation and insights into the people, congregations, agencies and organizations that comprise our vibrant community.
At the conclusion of the internship, it is expected that the intern will have a robust portfolio of published and accomplished work.
