JULY 2020
If your actions inspire others to dream more,
learn more, do more, and become more….
then you are a leader.”
CADY extends our sincere gratitude to three educational leaders who lived this vision: Superintendent Mark Halloran for three decades of dedicated service with SAU#48, as well as his long-term service on the CADY Board of Directors where he generously shared his wit and wisdom; Plymouth Elementary School Principal Julie Flynn for her strong support of CADY youth programs and advocacy for Restorative Justice, making a life-changing difference in the lives of her most vulnerable students; and SAU#4 Superintendent Stacey Buckley for her partnership on many Newfound region prevention initiatives. Each of these remarkable people retired at the end of June and over their years of service made a powerful difference in the lives of our children and community. Congratulations Mark, Julie, and Stacey on your retirement, and we hope you take well-deserved time for joy, adventure, and new purpose—it has been an honor working with you!

Parents face more challenges than ever in having effective prevention conversations with their teens around marijuana use. Webinar: Parenting During COVID-19
Wednesday, July 29th
There is no doubt that we are living in unprecedented times as parents. Parents are facing hard questions like - should we go out or stay home? Who is best to include in our quarantine bubble? In the age of COVID-19, can you really be a full time parent and work at home at the same time? How do you address your concerns around school and childcare?

While the pandemic is challenging us, we know that sharing information and learning from each other can help. Join New Futures and MomsRising for a discussion about where we are in the midst of this pandemic. Your views and opinions will shape the actions and information passed on to decision makers.
Risky Drinking Can Put a Chill on Summer Fun
With parties, BBQs and other get togethers taking place, remember the consequences of providing alcohol to minors. In an effort to combat underage drinking, state legislators have enacted laws that assign responsibility to adults who allow minors to drink alcohol at social gatherings.
In light of the coronavirus pandemic as well as the negative consequences associated with drinking, it is particularly important this summer to take measures to protect your own health and that of your loved ones.
