Dear Siblings in Christ,
Happy MID-SUMMER! It was a joy to worship with everyone in person and on-line, to reconnect with grandchildren, consider opportunities for awe and to gather our Parish Life Committee.
We also took a step toward finding our next Music Director and offer our deepest gratitude to Stephen Ryerson who created a marvelous video to help personalize and round out our job listing. I recommend the video to you. You can watch it here. (You can also view below.)
Thanks also to each of the participants who helped embody the spirit and joy we offer to applicants. Please share the 3 minute video with friends, relatives and colleagues. We know that we’ll need to cast a wide net to connect with the person God is calling to this vital role. This is an opportunity to become a digital missioner (one who fosters relationships and understanding across on-line platforms – the new mission fields of our era) and to introduce folks to St. Andrew’s.
We have wonderful work underway, preparing for the upcoming baptisms, readying our campus for Rosie’s Day, Godly Play, and for the warm welcome we aspire to offer to newcomers and visitors alike. Thank you for all of your efforts invested in Church Street this summer. It is inspiring!
This Sunday we read from the middle of the gospel of Matthew- well into Jesus’ teaching via parables. This week’s story is the parable of the weeds and the wheat and we’ll focus on, “Tending the Field: Wheat and Weeds—What Are We to Do?” (Spoiler alert/Preview – do mercy and justice: don’t judge or condemn.....not easy!)
After Sunday’s sermon, we’ll affirm our faith with the newly approved Rite 4 version of the Nicene Creed. We are including this iteration in our worship for four weeks. My hope is that the words will feel fresh and offer a different connection to this foundational Creed. I am curious to know whether it draws you deeper into the service or is a disconnect? It will take me some serious practice to say, “that pours forth of that of the One:” without stumbling and wondering. Thank you for being game to try this on during a summer month. Our more familiar Apostle’s Creed and traditional Nicene Creed will return in August.
I hope that you are beating the heat, that you’ve experienced awe, or are planning to. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

| | HELP WATERING THE FLOWERS IN GARDEN AND MEMORIAL GARDEN | |
| | While Maryann Haen is away (July 12 through 19) we need help watering every other day or so (depending on the rain we receive). If you have a moment please come by and water using the outside hose. Thank you. | | | | Do you enjoy the challenge of putting Ikea Furniture together? It is the fodder for comedians and cartoonists alike, but perhaps it is your cup of tea! Our Godly-Play-In the-Making room has 5 Ikea bookshelves waiting to be assembled. These shelves will hold the sacred stories and activities for our young people to enjoy. Once they are assembled, and before Godly Play launches in September, we will bless these shelves and commission the room to become the conduit of love and belonging that forms the foundation for Godly Play. | | ST. ANDREW'S IN THE WORLD! | | SUNDAY, JULY 19, 2026 READINGS
Eighth Sunday After Pentecost, Proper 11, Year A | |
This summer we will once again be having a pick up choir at our services led by our visiting organists/pianists. This week Kevin Galiè will again be our organist. People will meet at 8:45 a.m. prior to the service to practice the music for Sunday.
A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Galiè holds a B.S. - B.A., Boston University (Music /Computer Science); J. D. (Juris Doctor) Boston University School of Law; an M. Mus., The Boston Conservatory/Berklee School of Music (Orchestral & Choral Conducting, Organ) and a Certificate from the Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra - Roma. Mr. Galiè’s principal performing instrument, in addition to choral and ballet/opera/orchestral conducting, is classical pipe organ, especially in collaborative settings such as symphony orchestras, chamber music for organ and various instruments, and with choruses. From 2019 until Spring 2023, Mr. Galiè was based in Munich, Germany, with his wife, Dr. Franziska Galiè. Though now based in Boston, he still travels frequently to Munich as well as to his home in Italy, and around the world for his various engagements.

ROSIE’S DAY AT THE BEACH
The women from Rosie’s Place will be joining us for food, fun and the beach on Thursday, July 30th.
Here are some of the ways you can be part of this amazing day:
- Donate new or gently used WARM WEATHER clothing (please no sweaters or winter coats) and accessories (belts, handbags, scarves, etc.) for the boutique;
- Donate travel toiletries;
- Help with setup on the evening prior;
- Come to the beach or serve at the church;
- Make food for the cookout;
- Work the boutique;
- Be part of the cleanup crew on the day of the event.
- Monetary donations are also welcome and appreciated.
- Come join the Parish Life Committee "pizza and salad set up party"

Any questions contact Michelle Joyce 781-504-5907 or Carol Scott 617-347-3647. | | | | AD HOC ACCESSIBILITY GROUP MEETS | | As part of our commitment to being an accessible campus, a group of parishioners and vestry representatives met with independent architect Scott Aquilina to discuss how to become the inclusive and welcoming community we aspire to be. We reviewed the good work completed in the 1980s and ‘90s and wondered about making better use of the fully accessible bathrooms in our former undercroft. We toured our building and considered the opportunities both from the outside and from inside and reviewed some of the previous plans that were considered but not implemented. Thank you to Sherry Long, Gordon O’Reilly, Keith Clemmons, and Dan Connick who joined Reverend Amy and Scott for this fact-finding gathering. We know how important it is to be able to include all of our siblings in the full worship and St. Andrew’s community experience. Stay tuned – more info to follow. Shore to Shore has welcomed four new young people who are considering whether this youth group is for them.
Our next meeting is Sunday, August 9th at 5pm.
The decision to postpone our inaugural trip to South Africa is still difficult, but the group is enthusiastic about fundraising for our planned 2027 trip! These young people asked to continue Shore to Shore throughout the summer, which is extraordinary! Thank you for all the ways in which you support this growing group!

You are invited to join Rev’d Amy when she blesses the donations for the Food Pantry. She prays in thanksgiving for the donors, and for the health and wellbeing of the eventual recipients.
For the month of July we have been asked to collect juice boxes.
